Hi guys, i think (like other guys on this forum), that androgens destructive effects on hair follicles are mediated by Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS). In fact, androgens increase the level of ROS in the hair follicles (DP).The entire cascade starts from this, there are a lot of evidences showing that now. Androgenic Alopecia cannot happens without excessive ROS. So, we have several solutions:
1-We can reduce the action of androgens, by reducing the level of androgens in blood or by antagonizing the androgen receptor. This is the most conventional method for treating male pattern baldness.
2-We can reduce the level of ROS in the hair follicles with topical antioxidants, which will prevent the cascade to start. This method is unconventional.
3-We can combine the 1&2 solutions for max results.
Unfortunately, i cannot use any anti androgens or 5ar inhibitors because of sides effects. For guys having no sides with fina/duta ect, i strongly suggest you to add topical antioxidants in your protocol. It will helps greatly and protect against remaining androgens effects.
MY PROTOCOL:
Topical in water as vehicle:
-Reduced Glutathione 3% (glutathione is one of the strongest antioxidant available right now).
I apply 6ml of the solution every morning.
Topical in ethanol as vehicle:
-Piroctone olamine 1% (an antioxidant and anti fungus used in dandruff shampoos. One study showed better hair growth with PO than with Ketoconazole)
-Melatonin 0.1% (a strong antioxidant and an estrogen alpha receptor antaginist well discussed on this forum)
-Resveratrol 5% (an antoxidant and estrogen receptor beta agonist)
-Vitamin C 2% (a well known antioxidant )
I apply 3ml of this solution at night.
Shampoo and cream:
Regarding my shampoo, i actually use Kelual DS by Ducray, a shampoo that contains piroctone olamine, ciclopirox olamine and Glycyrrhetinic acid. I use it 3 times per week. I am thinking of switching to 2% ketoconazole shampoo because i already use piroctone olamine in my topical.
I also use Daivonex, a cream that contains calcipotriol, a vitamin d derivative. I use it 3 times a week for years to treat my scalp psoriasis
Oral supplements:
-Collagen powder 20gr per day
-Glycine 10gr per day
-MSM 7gr per day
-Vitamin C 1gr per day
-Glucosamine sulfate 2gr per day
-Vitamin D3 5000UI per day
-Vitamin K2 MK4 5mg per day
-High quality Fish oil 6gr per day.
Dermarroling:
I bought a Dr Pen A6 a few days ago. I will use it at 1mm or 1.5mm one time every 14 days.
MY RESULTS:
I started this protocol around one month ago and i am noticing less shedding. I will update and take photos of my hair frequently.
