Just ran across this link. This is proported to be an unpublished Japanese study on Apple Polyphenols. If anybody is interested please dig in :

:x <---- (Green Apple...yum !!)

http://www.applepolyphenols.com/docs/Procyanidin-B2-unpublished.pdf

It has good information about the hairgrowth cycle in general and it also contains a good footnote-referenced bibliography at the end for further research.

P.S. - This link from the same website contains abstracts to other studies on hair growth involving AP's :

It's a shame that all the apples that we get at the supermarket sit in cold storage for weeks and even months before they get sold to the general public. If they'd stop just leaving them around and letting the natural compounds in apples break down, we wouldn't have to buy apple poly from some website. We'd just get apply poly in our diet by eating apples.

Apple poly is a good idea, but there is no guarantee that what they're selling is the real deal or that the concentrations/doses they use are even effective.

You're right about that Doctor. I can only hope the guy at the applepolly website has some integrity. As with most products in this arena, it's become a perpetual leap of faith regarding product efficacy and/or potency.

That being said, I can't let the snake oilers petrify me from making a potentially effective and advantageous decision. I starting using both the topical and AP caps a few days ago based on what I've researched. If my regimen is effective I'll never really know what individual part AP played in it. But my goal is to simply get the job done. I have to go on my research and a bit of intuition and leave the FDA Phase III trials to the gatekeepers.

It is a shame about taking the long route to return to a naturally available solution through industry. But in this world economy, the only solutions that are validated and disseminated to the public are solutions that make a buck. The unfortunate result is a morality dressed in the robes of the dollar. Once we stop as a society filtering our morality through our economy, humanity will be able to move on to achieve much greater things.

I'm really not sure about apply polyphenols.

This is purely anecdotal but my father worked as a fruit and vegetable salesman - he had his stock delivered home and then would load up his handcart for delivery, so I grew up in a house full of apples, oranges, banana's, grapes, melons, grapefruits etc and they were the staple of my diet for many years.

Much of his fruit was fresh Irish stock and I was addicted to crab apples, eating maybe five or six a day. But I'm still balding.

Maybe a more powerful form of extract can make a difference but munching an apple a day isn't going to overturn your genes.

I wish it were otherwise.

I just don't understand how they can make AP so cheap. I get it at beyond-a-century for $18 for 50g. It looks and tastes like GTE, which also is mostly polyphenols that are water soluble. I have no way of telling them apart.

College...yesterday I received an email response from the owner of the company Dave in response to these very questions. I'll post my email and his response after work this evening. He comes off as a genuine person. If you have any other questions you want me to follow up with him about let me know. I'm planning on sending a response tonight. I'll wait until after I post the email exchange here.

tchehov..the thing is these "studies" are for TOPICAL use of them..unless some are about internal use..that I've missed.

My latest custom topical from Elsom will also contain Blood of the Dragon(very high in procyanidins)..bilberry(some unique procyanidins- have no idea of their hair growth potential)..as well as apple peel extract.

I'm sure bilberries are unique. I once bought goose berries. I could not handle the taste. I hope the bill berries are cheaper.

Were you ever going to post the response?

Also, where on that site can you buy it for so "cheap"? I'm not sure where to look.
