so bare with me.

Sometimes I lightly tug on my hair to see how many come out (hair pull test or whatever) and I find every now and then that two or three hairs will come from the same root. In another words, the hairs are all attached at the bottom. There is also always a little piece of something on the root. If I run my finger lightly down the shaft of the hair over the bulb, the little piece comes off. Could this be a little piece of dandruff or maybe excess sebum? If it is something that might be hindering my progress, what can be done to fix it? Or could this multiple-hair-to-root fallout be part of a shed?

Sorry for so many questions in a row, thanks in advance.
