So I was wondering- 1ml is the recommended dose for Rogaine/minoxidil but this dose is recommended for application to the crown only. This makes me wonder if 1 ml is enough for the whole head?

I was wondering if anyone had success using more than 1ml? I'm not planning on doing 2ml (twice the dose) or anything, but I was thinking of using 1 ml on the whole top of my head minus the crown. Then using like .25 ml just for the crown, and then adding a few extra drops to polish the hairline and temples.

It is never a good idea to modify the prescribed dosage.
Having said that, if you have hair left and 1 ml is not enough to cover your whole scalp, I doubt adding some extra drops might do any harm.

I've wondered the same question. I currently put 1 ml on the crown and another 1 ml on my middle frontal area. Might be too much, possibly why it itches often too....

I use 2ml on the whole NW6 area. The way I see it, the directions on the minoxidil say apply 1ml to the crown and that it's only intended for use on the crown, so if you're balding on more than just the crown, 1ml is insufficient to cover everything.

Foam cuts down on the itching, and other Minoxidil liquid side effects.

One milliliter is not enough to cover the scalp. To be honest, I really don't think Minoxidil is dangerous at all.

Itching can be a sign of hair regrowth, so, I wouldn't stop because of that.
