I think alcohol is enough. Some users mix it with stemoxydine which also uses alcohol as its vehicle. DMSO would probably be overkill or maybe even lead to side effects due to systemic absorption.

I'd love to hear reports about its efficacy, though, apart from that lone study on PubMed.
