have been on finasteride for 2 years.. 1 mg every day and minoxidil 5% twice since the past 8 months.. just switched to 0.5 mg dutasteride eod with finasteride on off days.

problems
minoxidil has given me a fat bloaty face.. its certain because i see a MAJOR difference if i dont use it for 7-10 days..

finasteride has made my whole body really soft :S ! my arms are like a womans, kinda flabby with no cuts anymore.. i have fat deposits on my chest and stomach too... basically alot of weight gain DEFINITELY from the finasteride..

i've heard alot about Nolvadex's ability to reverse gyno in early stages.. the fat on my lower pecs are beginning to look like man boobs. I even read up on a few posts where a guy claimed nolvadex made him 'feel' better, though i bet that was just a placebo effect.. thought nolva just attaches to the receptors in the chest and doesnt decrease estradiol to make you feel better..

Anyway, how long should i use nolvadex and what dosage to get rid of this water retention and fat deposits on chest?.. anybody here using it? any help would be greatly appreciated..can i take it for perhaps a month and drop it? i dont want to take it in conjunction with my hairloss regimine throughout.. just in between if thats possible

Firstly, there is no point in using finasteride if you are using dutasteride. .5mg takes care of both 5 ARs much more effectively than finasteride; you're just wasting money and potentially hurting your liver. I would highly recommend that you check your hormones pronto, and I bet based upon what you're describing, you will most likely have a high level of estrogen. If thats the case, you can either switch back to finasteride, (why did you even switch to dutasteride in the first place?), or you would have to take an aromatase inhibtor such as arimidex to get your estrogen levels down. Nolvadex works through a different means by competing for the estrogen receptor sites. This is not really recommended for men, because in some sites, nolvadex can also mimic estrogen. Most of the times, when men take nolvadex, they take it inconjunction with an aromatase inhibitor or if they have to choose between the two, they choose the aromatase inhibitor namely arimidex.
