Very Interesting Study: Cycling Vitamins And Nutrients Rather Than Taking Daily

Check this out. Its interesting and something Ive been wondering about. Ive gotten to the point where I may take a small handful of pills every morning.. something that makes me wonder, and is a chore. I often wonder how the hell they all interact in my stomach at once- vitamins, anti oxidants, fish oil and pumpkin seed oil, all with little to no results it seems.

Being a fan of mimicking a more natural diet, I sometimes fast and practice intermittent fasting, recognizing we live in an absurdly comfort-rich culture where its considered unthinkable to go outside without a jacket, or a hour without a snack let alone miss a regular meal. This is not at all how we lived throughout our evolutionary history, but quite different- we would have regularly endured periods of no food, periods of discomfort such as real heat or cold, and extreme exercise, ALL of which have proven to be longevity and health inducing in modern studies...

This study gives people different supplements on different days in place of finasteride, and the results seem really interesting. Their hypothesis is that many of these nutrients, vitamins or supplements may counteract one another, or too many may have harmful effects and should be cycled for optimal absorption. It also makes more sense- instead of getting omega threes every day, you eat them once, which is more like what a roving hunter gatherer would consume. Certain nutrients on certain days, rather than the kitchen sink daily. Im just digesting it now, but thought Id share.

Check the results, It would be interesting to have others digest and discuss!

Theres some truth to us having died early yes, but the majority would have been due to things like a bad injury due to lifestyle dangers, an infection such as an abscessed tooth, which we fortunately have dentistry for now, or most importantly, human on human violence. How many people on your street are killed by neighbors? Usually none, certainly not the 10-50% that would have been happening back in the day.

I agree about fish oil generally also, but the point remains.. we have all fruits and berries available from the Southern Hemisphere, fresh all winter, etc.. Anyway, let me know what you think!

I was about to say that pics are good for just vitamins, but then I saw minoxidil. Explains everything.

you think 2% minoxidil explains that? Have we ever seen such results for 2% mioxidil?

I really like the idea of cycling vitamins and minerals, or introduce some randomness in the schedule, it makes sense (precisely for the evolutionary reasons stated here). I think in general we are too obsessed with daily recommended values and the values are too high anyway. However, the idea that an optimal nutrient schedule will produce visible effects on hair density that can be documented in before and after photos seems a bit naive...

I tend to agree with everything you said. But, it was done over an entire year and with a large number of patients. Granted, they could have cherry picked the photographs of the best responders, but the data seemed to indicate it worked.
