(Im Swedish so my English is not that good :) )

First of all i'd like to say that this is great website! Finally some good info on hairloss.

Im in my early twenties and started losing hair back in spring/summer 2003, but it wasn't until summer 2004 it really started showing. It then took me a year of denial and changing of hairstyle to accomodate to the loss of hair until i started on minoxidil this september.
I don't know if minoxidil has had any effect yet, but my as far as i can tell i haven't had any serious loss of hair since i started.
Today i started with Propecia also and i really hope that this combo will boost my hairgrowth, allthough i know that there is a fair chance it won't and that i have to be pacient.

I am also planning on shaving my head, at least keep my hair below 1 cm. First of all to get used to the fact that this might be my future "haircut" and second to ensure that the minoxidil actually gets to my scalp instead of being stuck in the my hair.

Your regimen is highly likely to work well for you. You are combining the two available current treatments that are proven to work for the majority of people.

Adding Nizoral(or any other ketoconazole shampoo) and a quality shampoo like T/Gel to your rotation will make things even better.

Buzzing hair is a clever move, not as a step of acceptance, but as a way of keeping your mind away from your hair during this bumpy period of waiting for things to bloom. Besides, this is war.

Best of luck and welcome on board.

4.5 month update on propecia

Around Christmas i stopped with 5% minoxidil and since then i've only been using propecia. After Christmas i've let my hair grow "long" again, but unfortunately i havent seen much progress so far. My hair is still thin at the top and if there has been a change, it's been a change in the wrong direction. Im so ¤#&%¤% tired of desperate attempts to hide my baldness with styling.

Nevertheless i've decided to stay on propecia for at least 12 months, even if things seem to get worse.

- I've also found that improving other areas of my body is a way of coping (spelled correctly??) with low self-esteem due to hairloss, so i've added an "mental" regimen consisting of weight lifting and buying fancy clothes. :)
