Here's another study cited the ability of the vitamin E family (tocotrienals), being able to 'regrow' hair in those suffering from M.P.B.,

http://www.nutraingredients.com/Researc ... ness-Study

In all due respect, it is very possible Vitamin E may have a positive effect on hair, due to it's increased oxygen circulation benefits, especially when a lack of oxygen (or carbon) is an issue in one's skin health, as I would know, when I used to smoke, my skin would remain dry and dead like.

Another snake oil, or a possible innovation to a cure with natural supplements;
for you to decide...

Good sources of tocotrienols include many grains (oats, barley, whole rice). Most of the good stuff is found in what polishing and pressing gets rid of though so opt for whole grains to get a good benefit from these foods.

Even if the tocotrienols in the grains aren't doing anything for your hair they'll do a number on the quality of your other organs.

It's a study by a Vitamin E manufacturer, by the looks of it. I'd take it with a pinch of salt.

Good point, any other Vitamin E studies on Hair loss/growth would be good. Anyone know of any?

I don't know of any other studies supporting this, and in general I think it's quite absurd. It's possible that Vitamin E is good for hair quality, but the suggestion that it can slow or even reverse male pattern baldness - as this study seems to suggest - is just ludicrous.

One thing people need to be aware of is that the alternative health industry is just as corrupt and mendacious as the pharmaceutical industry. They have a great public image, but calumny, false information, and, yes, lies are rife in the alternative health world, and perhaps even encouraged by the comparative lack of regulation.

It is possible and I give the benefit of the doubt but if you have this attitude you'll be missing out on anything that comes from what you call the mendacious alternative industry. Among 99 things that can be snake oil but you are not forced by your Doctor to swallow there could be one good thing that you can incorporate into your regime.

Yes, absolutely. I'm not saying that all alternative therapies are bad. I'm just saying we should take their proponents claims with as much scepticism as we do pharmeceutical companies.

I've only ever read one person on the whole internet who claims success with Toco-8 against his male pattern baldness. Other than that its hard to find any good testimonials on this.

Are there no other studies to confirm it's validity other than the companies research? Are there any trusted research sites, working with alternative medicine?
