For example.. say if a 25 year old was losing hair and tokk propecia for 5 years. they say that hair will go back to how it was originally a year after you stop taking propecia.. i was wondering if that meant to the state it was in when you were 25 or the state it would have been in if you were 30 and hadnt taken any propecia?

Thanks in advance

In one year you would be back to the state when you started the treatments. So you would be in 25 years old state.

not exactly true.

Your hair will be at the stage as if you never used the treatment at all.

Say you started finasteride when you were 25, and you maintained and had some regrowth. If you completely cut off finasteride intake, you will gradually go back to base line (prior to treatment), then it most likely will progress further. male pattern baldness will catch up as you age.

he is right, you wil mostly become the same on topp as if you never used finasteride for 5 years, and since you never could know how bad it would be without finasteride.. then its really scary to think about.
Who would want to risk it ...

You either take it for a long time or until something better comes out in the next ten years or so. It sucks I know.

look at my avatar to see what happens when you stop. Those points are only taken every year, so I bet they could have fallen faster than that. In the Avodart phaseII trials, all groups except 0.5mg and 2.5mg fell very fast in 3 months after being on for 6 months.

that sounds absolutely crazy to me. stay on a drug as serious and potentially dangerous as propecia for the rest of your life. for the sake of hair... crazy.

though, my hairloss is very slow and i'm still a nw2 at 29 years of age, so maybe i can't relate...
