i wanted to post something a little more uplifting (or at least not super downer!) here in the impact session. To both uplift, as well as nominally speak to 'impact' (i know this could technically be in the general forum), i'll say that a review of Match.com profile pictures indicates a LOT of receding/bald men. Balding sucks, and I'm not rooting for anyone to deal with it, but I do think it's easy for us to get in downer mode as if the playing field is just replete with guys with thick, luscious locks and that we just don't have a chance. I got curious and looked, searching in the 26-33 range (I was searching for women and got curious and flipped the switch to men). It looked like 1 out of every three guys was either receding or bald, or wearing a hat to cover up presumable baldness.
The negative conclusion could be "well, of course a dating website would have a disproportionate presence of balding men, because they are disproportionately single." I think this could at least be partially true. But this was Boston, where tons of guys/girls defer the marriage game. Anyways, it just felt like the receding hairline phenomena was exceedingly common. Slick bald and shaven? Not as much, which sucks (not that consciously I root for guys to go bald).
No delusions: hair would make things easier, and I still want it, but maybe in some odd way this encourages someone.
