weather hair loss

Does anyone know if the weather has anything to do w/ hair loss? I don't know if I'm being paranoid or genuinely loosing my hair, but my hair has been falling out like crazy since the beginning of August every time I brush, wash, or straighten my hair. My hair stylist told me that hair falls out more during the summer b/c it's pushing out all the dead hairs. Is this true? Does this mean that hair thins in the summer and grows back during the fall? I also changed my diet about 5-6 months ago...I stopped eating dairy products. Does this have anything to do w/ my hair loss? Please help, I'm being so paranoid about this.

A severe change in diet can cause a hair shed. If you gave up all dairy, are you still getting enough protein? Low protein diets can contribute to hair loss.

If you are getting enough protein, your body may be just reacting to the change in diet, and it will correct itself.
