Weird Hair Thinning At The Age Of 16

I think this is my third post on this forums but here we go. I'm 16 years old and I've started balding at the end of 2015. My scalp became inflamed, it started burning, itching and flaking and hair loss occurred. This was the point where I entered middle school and at the end of the first year I noticed that my hair got pretty thin so I decided to shave it all off. Later when summer came I noticed that the itchiness kinda went away and I was left off with burning sensation on my scalp. Fast forward a few months the burning kinda went away as well and now I'm only experiencing a bit of pain and burning on few spots on my scalp. It really depends on the day though sometimes the burning is terrible and sometimes it is not that bad. I've tried many shampoos and natural remedies and some helped and some made the burning and flaking worse. So far I've pretty much dealt with the fact that I'm going bald since my scalp can be seen under some sort of light source but there are 3 things that I do not understand. How come when my hair started falling out I developed the symptoms that I've mentioned at the beggining of this thread. Could this be connected to some other form of skin disease or something that is going on inside my body ? I've pretty much lost like 50% or more of my hair in the course 2 years. Is that how you guys experienced hair loss since I didn't know it would go that fast. I've talked to some people and they've lost all their hair in the course of 8+ years. The third weird thing is that I usually go to the bathroom and I run my hand through my hair on a peace of paper. Last week I noticed that maybe 5-6 hair fell out but when I did the same thing next week on a random day I noticed that 20+ hair fell out instantly. Stuff like this gives me hope that maybe this is not alopecia and that it could be something else going on. The thing is I'm not balding in the crown area or at the temples like most people usually do but pretty much my hair is thinning everywhere on top/middle part of my head except the sides and the very back. So if anyone can answer these questions and maybe givem some tips and pointers that would be really helpful. I will go to the dermatologist next week but they will probably just say that I'm balding. They will also most likely give me some meds and they won't listen to my story so your opinion would be really appreciated.

Thanks for the help mates :D !

PS: I've attached some pictures of me WHEN I WAS 15 and as you can see a ton of my hair was already gone at that age. Before that I used to have a lot of hair. As I said really really weird... :/

Nah mate you could have number of things like psoriasis, dermatitis etc... the burning could also be caused by scalp folliculitus etc.. etc.. Maybe you should consider switching shampoos to something more natural like rahua shampoo which is a really good shampoo imo or you can go for haz de fuko since they have really solid shampoos as well. You could also look for anti dandruff shampoos if the flaking is terrible but you need to treat the source not the symptoms. Maybe soften the water since hard water can cause irritation and flaking or try changing the diet around a little bit. Do some research and treat whatever you have as soon as possible :DThere can be so many things that can contribute to the symptoms that you've listed so if you need any more help I'm here mate :)

PS: Maybe I'm just overthinking it and you could have dry scalp or just something like that so yeahh...

Yeah you might be right but i've been switching from one shampoo to another for months now and nothing seems to quite work for me. I even tried washing my hair with apple vinegar an hour ago to see if it shows any results. Smells like sh*t so i hope its worth it, lol.

Also i've just checked your pics. I've got a guy in my university class with nearly the same hair as yours, a bit thinner even. He's been like this since he was about your age and hasn't got worse since then.

Frequent shampoo switching is not that good as well. I would suggest that you try natural shampoos first before you go and use any meds or over the counter dandruff shampoos. Here is the link to some amazing natural shampoos that you should try http://livingprettynaturally.com/best-natural-shampoos-conditioners-an-lpn-special/ ACV could do the job just fine for you but white vinegar might be a little bit better but the key is that you use organic non filtered raw vinegar with the mother so you can get all the benefits that it offers. Using a shitty quality ACV is just a shot in the dark since it might not do anything.

I've updated my response to your reply and the post as well and I've mentioned that I used to have a ton of hair so much that I didn't know what to do with it all... and in just 2 years 50-65% of my hair is gone :(

PS: When you will get to the point when you have to reach for the anti-dandruff shampoos or something similar like that don't buy the cheapest one since it can make your "condition" even worse but remember always invest into high quality shampoos and by high quality I don't mean that you need to spend 40$ for a shampoo... You should do some research on the ingredients you need to avoid and go from there and buy the shampoos that ranges between 10-20$ or something like that but really the key is in the ingredients. But dude as I said maybe you just have dry scalp or something like that so don't panic too much. And remember I'm only 16 and I'm not a dermatologist so these are just my tips.

You surely know a lot about hair for someone your age though :D
i'll try finding this shampoo by "Acure" .. don't think i've seen it in drug stores yet.
i'm currently using a shampoo which my dermatologist adviced me to buy, but it doesn't seem to work for me.
I remember the first shampoo I tried using was head and shouders and it's probably the most overrated one of all time.
I will set up another meeting with him in the next couple of days and go over the things I can do to fix these problems.
About your meeting with a dermatologist next week - make sure you go to the right one, as some of them don't really care about their patients and would say whatever just to act like they're concerned. If you notice they're not taking it seriously enough, search for another professional who will.

oh and another thing, I hope you can understand most of the stuff I write, since English is my third language
