I have not seen a thread that consolidates what dutasteride takers are experiencing. In a post I wrote before Christmas, I said I had a scratchy throat. I would like to read other people's experiences and side effects on dutasteride.

I had a nasty cold when starting avodart. I flew home for Christmas shortly after and my ears had terrible pressure as well, unlike I have ever experienced. So, I stopped taking avodart the day before christmas just in case it was causing this problem. I remembered the talk about bloating happening on dutasteride so I acutally bought some Midol and it helped with my ears. Go ahead and laugh, but I was f'ing miserable! The throat thing stuck around until 12/29/06.
The side effects were gone so far as I could tell so I started taking avodart 0.5mg daily on 1/8/07 again. On 1/9/07 sure enough, the scratchy throat, ear pressure and sinus congestion is back, but not as bad. I probably caught a cold at the same time as starting avodart in december. I am not imagining these side effects, I only hope they go away quickly because there is no way I could live with them.
