1) What did minoxidil do for you?

2) What brand did you use?

3) When did you start noticing results?

4) How did the results develop over time?

5) Anything else you have to say about minoxidil in general?

Thanks:)

1) Little regrow in the hairline and keeps what I have on the top of the head.

2) Kirkland liquid

3)First month

4)thickening of the hairline...Vellus to thick hair

5)It's a good product for your hair, if you can't take finasteride like me I recommend start minoxidil and wait for the new treatments :)

1. Saved my hair. Hairline was creeping up, bald spot developing... 2 years later I'm a little better than baseline I think.

2. Rogaine and Kirkland liquid.

3. After 2-3 months.

4. Lusciously.

5. I like it.

You should really add a question 6.

6. What other measures are you taking to help preserve/grow your hair, including medications, and when did you start them?

- None.

(I add this of course because if someone is taking finasteride etc. it may be difficult or impossible to definitively attribute any hair developments specifically to minoxidil)

Thank you for your reply. Which Norwood where when you started (and now?)

Thank you for your reply. Which Norwood where when you started (and now?)

Looking at the chart... I guess I was around a 2 on the hairline, maybe slightly worse, and steadily getting worse. On the crown, not sure how to evaluate. Thin coverage over a circle or oval with a diameter of maybe 3 inches, but no spot completely bare.

Now, still a Norwood 2, maybe slightly better. Also on the crown, similar, but slightly better.

Very happy with these results because it was clearly getting progressively worse. No longer.

Although I'm still above baseline, it may be a little worse than a few months ago. I switched from Rogaine to Kirkland and perhaps that played a role. So, I'm now using both.

1) Some regrowth at hairline, lots of new hairgrowth/thickening in crown area

2) Foligain liquid

3) 3.5-4month mark

4) Too soon to tell but new hairs are corse and pigmented

5) Initial first uses caused peeling on my scalp for the first week. Using twice a day caused darkness (looked like bruising) on my upper eyelids. Problem went away after going to once a day.

1- Thickened my existing hairs a bit and gave some regrowth of thin but cosmetically significant hair, worked better at the crown than the front and sides.
2- A generic brand that's not sold outside my country, but it's the typical 5% minoxidil in PPG.
3- 3-3.5 months
4- Initial shedding period for 2.5 months, it stabilized and I started losing less hair, then I started seeing hairs sprouting and they had different diameters, after 1 month I noticed that the part line has become denser and scalp wasn't as noticeable as before.
5- Minoxidil in PPG causes flaky scalp but regular nizoral use combatted this, no other side effects. Also, minoxidil doesn't do wonders and won't restore 100% of hair density so have logical expectations in order to not let yourself down.

Once.

If it does nothing for you, and never did anything, then there's a decent chance that if you stop, nothing will happen.
