Quoted from the Phytocap webpage, under "medical explanation":

"The mechanism behind "pattern balding" hair loss which is also the most common cause of making womens` hair thinner:

The receding hair-lines at the temples follow the arrow-shaped configuration of the chinese gall-bladder meredian. On top of the head where the hair loss starts, is one of the body's strongest energy points (Du20).

If hormones were the only cause of hair loss, the hair would fall off evenly, NOT creating receding hair lines or a balding spot on top of the head. A "second hair loss" (many years after a hair transplant) seems to follow exactly the same patterns as the first hair loss.

Through the hair loss research in our laboratory, we found that Phytocap was acting directly on the meridians by releasing energy from phytostimulines into the system - similar to recharging a battery! The secret was in the radiation of energy triggering the meridians, thus restoring the normal meridian energy flow, increasing the energy available to the cells in the hair follicles. This cellular activity (increasing ATP) speeds up the breakdown of DHT (Dihydrotestosteron) which causes "strangulation" of the hair follicles"

Eye of newt and sprig of thyme, esther of crowfoot and squirt of lime... blah blah blah

scam

There's so much of this stuff on the internet, it's very hard to figure out whats real or not. From taking advice from most people here, it's just easier to stick to the proven methods. I don't know how some of these guys get away with the false advertisement

About Phytocap

"Its just easier to stick to proven methods" Well, before minoxidil was FDA approved, would-be authorities said blah-blah-blah to minoxidil as well. After Upjohn got the approval, all the blah-blah-blah stopped. Just to take a look at FAQ concerning Phytocap could be wise before starting to draw conclusions.

I read the FAQ. Phytocap is, in effect, saying that Male Pattern Baldness is caused by complications with male energy meridians in the head. In effect, Phytocap is claiming to cure male pattern baldness using technique and context similar to how accupuncture/accupressure works.

First off, I have a negative view of this product because I flat out do not believe that energy meridians or whatnot are the cause of male pattern baldness. I am not saying that I don't believe that there is significant merit in the field of accupuncture, etc... I think there is. But, to claim that this alone is the most significant cause of male pattern baldness when there is so much chemical activity in the scalp that has a strong association with the presence of male pattern baldness is like saying that cancer is caused by blocked energy meridians despite the fact a person may have smoked two packs a day for their entire life.

And lastly, speaking of smoking, I tried accupressure as a cure to help me stop smoking. It didn't do didly squat, but a short term plan utilizing nicotine patches DID help me be successful in quitting. So, although I DO have an appreciation for eastern school of thought on such issues, I also have a natural skepticism of it.

I prefer statistics, facts, and data when judging the merits of products. I have seen numerous studies all claiming DHT to be the cuplrit of male pattern baldness, and numerous studies, professionally documented, showing the effectiveness of Minoxidil and Finasteride. This website has no such data, just an anecdotal reference to some "Scandinavian Study" with no data or reference links with which to see the details of this so called study. It is a classic example of one of many similar snake oil products that I have seen advertised on the web, and it sickens me. Many suffering people waste significant amounts of hard earned money chasing a lie in purchasing such products. When and if this product actually is shown to be effective, I would be quite confident that such information would be proudly highlighted on this webpage and then I would eat every word I have typed here. But, that not being the case, or not yet, I pretty much lump this product effort as one intended to defraud people out of money.

I hate to sound so cynical, but there is a reason. People who are losing their hair are suffering, and often times desperate. Any time they sense that there is a new, different, and once and for all cure they often times spend lots of money to get it. Unfortunately, there are many unscrupulous folks out there who take advantage of this human frailty and present products with the sole purpose of taking advantage of us. We have to supress our inner longing for a cure and judge things objectively before spending our money... we have to because for every potential great product out there, there are 10 others trying to rip us off.

if they're gonna charge 39.95 a month they should give you more than a months worth. propecia is about that for a month, and mnoxidil is 3 times less than that, and those are both FDA approved. i'm gonna start saving my piss, and start a site with testomonials like:

"Garth's piss really penetrates my scalp, and revitalizez my follicles. Thanks to this endless tap of hair revitalizing energy hairloss can be cured for good."
OR
"No side effects. Amazingly garth's pee doesn't even smell bad. It's totally sweet. I think it might really just be instant lemonade. Awesome!!!"

Scam product

I'd hate to see someone waste their time on something like this, which is what effectively they are doing here. Wouldn't you just be totally sickened buying a product like this, then spend a year applying it and the it doesn't do anything.
There's always this miracle cure claimed by the snake oil sales man that their product is like (so much better than western medicine ). I'm frankly quite sckeptical of these claims also, I mean how is it that these type of medicines are so great and have absolutley zero side effects, while proven and conventional medication gets it all so wrong all the time. It all sounds a bit to coincedental to me.
