What does the future hold?

I am wondering if any of the more experienced members on this forum could be able to give me some insight as to what treatments we can expect in the next 5 years or so? Are we generally regarding CB-03-01 as the closest thing to release as well as the most effective? Let me know what you think the future holds for us...

  • CB is supposed to be out by 2017/2018. 5 years should be sufficient.
  • Replicel has stated their Phase II trials will last 3.25 years (39 months exactly) starting sometime this year if not they already have. However, Japan has recently DEREGULATED stem cell therapy laws and will allow conditional commercialization during Phase II trials. Keep this in mind for more breakthroughs in research as it allows for a FAST release.
  • Follica finished Phase II trials last year and only need Phase III for completion. It's unknown how long Phase III will take them but 2-3 years or less is not impossible.
  • Histogen needs to start and finish Phase IIb trials before going commercial in Asia. 2-3 years is not impossible, but they've been slacking.

There is nothing else to look forward to in clinical trials. Bimatoprost looks like a halfass product.

Is Dutasteride still going through trials for hair loss? For someone reason I think if that gets approved for hair that would say something! Cause then people would be kind of be able to substantiate that they take finasteride: I take a rather mild drug that is used for hair loss. Not the more potent one that shrinks your prostate to the size of a pea.

Thanks Hellouser, I completely agree with you on bimatoprost, I doubt it will be much more than a slightly better minoxidil (growth stimulant). I have a question that you may be able to answer; I am about to start taking propecia for the first time, but I am wondering, when something like CB-03-01 comes around (if it comes around), is it likely in your opinion I would be able to quit propecia and "transfer" to CB so to speak, without losing the hair I had retained on propecia?

Hell have you seen any recent updates on Pilofocus (Doctor Wesley's scarless hair transplant technique) to date?

My sincerest apologies for asking a question that I wanted an answer to....how silly of me.. If you haven't got anything constructive to contribute/ a reasonable answer to my question, then don't comment.

Your question - "What does the future hold?"

Let me get out my magic 8 ball and tell you.

I'm not asking anyone to predict the future of the medical industry... I figured it was clear that I meant near future treatments. Perhaps not clear enough

Yes, it is extremely silly of you, the answers are in the forum already. So you want the entire forum to just turn it's head on the back of the line to answer a peasant who is completely oblivious of hair loss research and wasting an entire thread in the process? Don't add anything constructive lmao, this is a waste thread, so you're not one to talk.

And yes, your questions basically asks for a fortune teller. Oh well let's see... everyone will have hair in 30 years, fair enough? You idiot

The answer to your question is absolutely nothing. All the "in 5 years" never pan out and are nothing but an excuse for more research money for people to keep their jobs. No one is interested in a cure. The researchers are looking for 1 to 2 million dollars which is nothing in the bio tech field and would be able to get that much money in a day if their research had any real merit.

Remember, we don't even have anything that turns vellus hair into terminal or normal hair. A cure for baldness is more than 100 years away.
