I started using minoxidil about two months back (without researching it well enough) for my hairline. I was using 5% foam at the time. As I started, I did some serious research and found out that it's a lifetime commitment, which didn't settle well with me. But I also found out that I could fill in my sparse beard by using minoxidil for 6 to 12 months. So I stopped applying minoxidil to my hairline, after just two weeks, and started applying to my face to fill in my sparse beard.
About a month later I started noticing hair near my eyes and in between my eyebrows, so I stopped using 5% foam (once a day) , and started using 2% liquid (0.5 ml) once a day. Now, two months in, the beard is filling in slowly (which doesn't bother me), but I also have body hair growing where it wasn't before which does bother me.
I've read in many posts that body hair will slowly fall out after stopping minoxidil, but I've also read that using minoxidil for at least 6 months for beard growth will stop the beard from falling out after stopping minoxidil. So now am wondering the difference between body hair and facial hair, and how one stays and one falls out. I've seen long term pictures of people keeping their beards after stopping minoxidil, am yet to see before and after pictures of body hair loss after minoxidil
. My question is,does body hair really fall out after after long term usage of minoxidil? Does that include facial hair?
