A localized protective reaction of tissue to irritation, injury, or infection, characterized by pain, redness, swelling, and sometimes loss of function. Click to expand... I would say red and/or itchy is inflamed. Flakes, are just flakes. Disclaimer: I don't know what I'm talking about.

A little annoying, but it's not a big deal. I'm just wondering-- I know that 'inflammation' can cause hairloss products to be ineffective. Are flakes the same way?
