I have been doing massage and take some supplement for hairloss and that is working but not as I expected they would be. Minoxidil is prescription medication which lower bp, I am vary of its side effects. I want to know natural vasodilators like minoxidil which I could use in conjunction which microneedling. Thanks.

What are your expectations for regrowth?

If you think that you will go back to time as a teenager will full head of hair and no mature hairline, then it ain't going to happen any time soon.

I am not hoping to get my juvenile hairline back. I am hoping to keep my NW2 hairline and some moderate hairline fill up. That's it.

So it’s 2019 and the only FDA approved growth stimulant we have is minoxidil? I’m guessing those of us who shed normal amount on antiandrogen but don’t review anything are just waiting for it all gone?

Topical niacin combined with a 200mg oral dose on an empty stomach after daily rolling to erythema and weekly 1.5mm depth wounding. Maintains potassium channel function and vasodilates capillaries all over the body, including the scalp. Combine with minoxidil for the best results, but it can be used as an effective substitute. Slow dose niacin is useless. You want the flush. Research it. I'm not posting again or arguing about it, but I know how hopeless this sh*t feels so I felt compelled to post. Here's a study I found in 2 seconds on google.

During last 10 years we saw a lot of studies like this...most are on "mouse"...and totally not effective on humans...Even on humans...looksn studies about LLT devices and PRP...on studies : Very effective. In the real world : 0 !

Not any natural stuff can be the same as minoxidil...not even a chemical molecule at this time.

Im not saying the oils are strong as minoxidil 5% . But they have some anti inflammatory effects and improve blood circulation which results are similar to minoxidil 2%. The rosemary s study is done in humans.

Many people have tried it and I do not recall anyone ever getting significant results with it.

What does it mean natural? That is produced by nature? So then has to be better? Snake poison is produced by nature...

If it is a vasodilator like minoxidil what are you looking for is because it contains molecules that act minoxidil. Probably because they have similar or close chemical structure or they activate related molecular pathways. That its produced by nature doesn't mean anything at all

Wrong section but this. There are others but they are all going to be less effective. Probably substantially less.

You can try the alternative section of this forum or Immortalhairforum (dead now but had some decent discussions in the past)

Novel effect of sildenafil on hair growth.

Author information

Abstract
BACKGROUND:
Sildenafil, a phosphodiesterase 5 (PDE5) inhibitor, is known to increase the intracellular level of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), which causes vasodilation. However, the effect of sildenafil on human hair follicles (hHFs) is unknown.

OBJECTIVE:
The purpose of this study was to determine the role of sildenafil in hair growth.

METHODS:
We investigated the expression of PDE5 in human dermal papilla cells (hDPCs) and hHFs. The effects of sildenafil on hDPC proliferation were evaluated using BrdU assays. The mRNA expression of growth factors and extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) phosphorylation were investigated using real-time PCR and western blotting, respectively. Additionally, anagen induction and perifollicular vessel formation were evaluated using an in vivo mice model.

RESULTS:
We confirmed high expression of PDE5 in hDPCs and hHFs. Sildenafil enhances proliferation of hDPCs and up-regulates the mRNA expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), which are responsible for hair growth. Additionally, sildenafil up-regulates the levels of phosphorylated ERK and accelerates anagen induction by stimulating perifollicular vessel formation after topical application in mice.

CONCLUSION:
Our study demonstrates for the first time, the significant therapeutic potential of sildenafil on hair growth and its potential use in treatment of alopecia.

Pure essential rosemary oil as triple as effective as 2% minoxidil.
Pure essential rosemary oil + 1.5 dermastamping per week is significantly more effective than just 5% minoxidil.
Rosemary essential oil makes my hair look nice and healthy, leaves a good smell, a healthy scalp and leaves no residue.
It takes around 30-40 minutes before it completely vanishes. Meaning its completely absorbed by your skin and even your hair.

During last 10 years we saw a lot of studies like this...most are on "mouse"...and totally not effective on humans...Even on humans...looksn studies about LLT devices and PRP...on studies : Very effective. In the real world : 0 !

The rosemary oil study was performed on humans. Why are you spreading misinformation?

Essential oils, massages and reciting poems to your hair follicles won't save your hair. Very few things have any significant results against male pattern baldness
Neither will minoxidil. The rosemary oil study shows that while almost 3x as effective as 2% minoxidil, the actual regrowth achieved after 6 months was still not impressive. It was visible, but not impressive or ground-breaking.

With hairloss, you dont just do one thing and thats it. You need to "attack" your hairloss from all angles, everyday, for many many months, or even a few years.
Pure essential rosemary oil 2x per day + 1.5 mm derma stamping will be just as effective (and probably more) than 5% minoxidil.
If theres a cheap method out there with no side effects, cost effective and minimal effort, thats just as effective as a FDA approved hairloss drug, you should implement it into your hair protocol and never stop doing it.
