HM is hair multiplication which is supposed to be the holy grail for bald men. basically, the hair in your back and sides are androgen resistant, which means u dont go bald in that area. but u only have a limited supply of them u can put on the rest of your head which isn't androgen resistant and hence why u go bald in those areas. so HM clones these resistant hairs to make an infinite supply and just cover up whatever area goes bald and hopefully will come out in 10 years, so in the meantime, just maintain and hope for the best!!!

right on everything, but expected release.

EDIT: expected arrival of HM 2-4 years. Intercytex is in phase II, and looking to potentially distribute a marketable HM by 2008 (in a location other than England or The States).

Seriously, cscott, my advice to you is to do a search with the search engine (the magnifying glass at the top of the page), and read, read, read. You will be glad you did. I spent more time reading this site than I did doing my job when I first found out that I was losing my hair. And reading up on HM should be... dare I say hopeful.

In short, they extrack hair follicle cells from the back or sides of yours scalp, where the hair pretty much never balds on anybody, and they cultivate those cells that are immune to hair loss, multiply them many times over (a million, according to one of the Intercytex link's statements), and reinject those new cells into the scalp where you are going bald, in hopes of growing hair there.

Read up. It's worth it.

i'll just answer your question based on what i know.

it's not a pill you swallow, because that would do nothing for your hair (in terms of getting the cloned hairs up in there).

it will be like a transplant (micro-injection) into your scalp. the cloned hairs (or clones specimens) will then hopefully grow succesfully all over your scalp, where they were injected.

it's supposed to be good because:

current hair transplants leave scars where the hair is harvested.
current hair transplants need more of your own hair, which is not availible, to give total coverage of the head.
you have an infinite supply of hair, as, if you go thinner, they can just clone more of the original specimen and implant more.
