What is the consensus on micro-needling?

Hey Guys! I am a 26 years old dude who’s been on Dutasteride 0,5 mg/day for 22,5 months and prior to that I was on finasteride 1 mg/day for 8 months! I am going to start minoxidil 5% foam today and will aim to use it once a day in the evening! My question though relates to microneedling. Does it really work and how does it compare to DHT-blockers and minoxidil? I heard that the derminator 2 is a great device? Is it worth the investment? Should you microneedle at 1,5 mm once a week? Any opinions and tips regarding microneedling for hair loss is welcomed!

Probably works, more recent studies suggest 1.5mm isn't necessary with some claiming better efficacy at depths as low as 0.3mm/week. I'd personally recommend using a topical anaesthetic like EMLA and a disinfectant like Betadine to prepare the skin prior to micro needling.

Ah I see! Do you microneedle yourself and what’s your regimen?

Have tried it in the past with limited results but I never really could maintain weekly regimen compliance, takes up quite a bit of time (only ever did the hairline and temples) and hurts quite a bit so would always give up after only a few months. I've recently started needling again but this time I've invested in a few tubes of anaesthetic cream and reduced needling depth, I'm 3 weeks in now and pain is no longer an issue, will try to make it to 6 months by which time I should know if it's working or not.

Microneedling is one of those things which some users have completely grown hair back..I like the science behind it. It might break up some scalp calcification as well.
For me I haven’t seen those great results, but do it anyways. Scalp heals really fast.
It definitely gets more blood circulation to scalp, better than massage.

Pretty much a must have these days. i still think mild daily rolling is superior to follicas method, but i know many disagree.
