What Is With Murray Ave. Apothecary? Seems Dangerous, Untested And Reckless.

Lets have a serious discussion about this, because it is very important.

Murray Ave. and places like them easily just hand out scripts for up to 30% minoxidil, compounded with a bunch of other crazy stuff. They charge a lit for it too.

Who I believe to be the owner and lead pharmacist (Susan) will concoct a bunch of insane compounds at the drop of a dime, and recommend them to you right away.

Progesterone hair treatment? 30% minoxidil? want it WITH finasteride, progesterone, hydrocortisone, AA??? f*****g AWESOME!!! this is not even the start of the stuff they will sell you.

I bought into it, out of desperation. I tried the 30% on the left temple only and, I do not know how, but almost everything I had left there fell out within a few weeks. Not months, weeks.

If you don't want t be involved in the discussion, fine... but PLEASE reconsider when you think the, "more is better" and all the purely hypothetical bullshit they try to sell. They are all nice as hell, but please be careful.

It sounds great actually.

I wish I had a compounding pharmacy here who would satisfy my desire to build a crazy-*** topical with a bunch of sh*t, because I have a LAUNDRY LIST of stuff I would throw in it. Italians love making these kinds of topicals, @Roberto_72 uses one himself as well.

I would want...hmm... Cyproterone acetate, 1% Alfatradiol, maybe some progesterone and stuff thrown in there, why not, would probably maintain well on it. But mostly for the possibility of just testing out different topical compounds which I cannot get myself. If they have even the slightest clue about how to prepare topicals effectively and can get them for me at a reasonable price I don't see how the place could be bad.

I asked a compounding pharmacy in Germany if they could make me a lotion with

Progesteron 2 Gram
Cyproterone Acetat 1 Gram
17-alfa estradiol (Alfatradiol) 50 Milligramm
Hydrocortison Butyrat 50
Alkohol 70

They wanted to charge me 420 EUROS for 100 GRAMS of this lotion, batshit insane sh*t.

I've been using their 15% Minoxidil + 5% AA lotion and 5%Acetyl-glutathione + biotin 3% + .05% vit E liquid (applied 5 minutes before the Minoxidil) for about two months. I can't say I see any positive hair growth results yet but nothing has fallen out either.
You are right to be cautious. The overuse of some of these products without proven scientific, controlled studies is too common.

I know a physician that has his own formulation compounded in Ireland. I know it was for quality and cost but I do not know the pharmacy. Perhaps some of our Irish members here can flush it out. Probably would need to be doctor to acquire it though.

@buckthorn

Let me say this, I've been on that 30% for years. That's right, years.

Not only that, I supplement it now with Promox, which has Latanoprost (.003), and they are EVEN EASIER to get things from, then
MedicalWellnessCenter, believe it or not. Got 110 milligrams for 132.00.

Murray's quality is AWESOME. Sorry that you didn't have any success. That said, I went from Norwood four (that's right, 4), to Norwood III V, to Norwood III. And I owe it all to Susan, from Murray. Have to be honest.

I don't get a cut or anything (and my name isn't Jazz1, for the record).

Thought you were @BreakingBald, at first, for some reason. Then I realized, you're not (you're an old man)...:D

Now, with an ending from Breaking Bad.

It worked for me, you b**ch!!! :p Had to say that, since you're now a moderator!!

Bioten is a waste of time. That I will admit. I've tried that, no end results.

That said, topical Finasteride is NOT a waste of time.

@buckthorn, I will send you a tube of Murray's, for FREE. That's right. I get two from Promox, and I use their monthly script in a few weeks.

I use it like water.

Hope that your hair will grow back, to be honest. I really do.

I wouldn't use that sh*t if you paid me. I had a decent hairline. Everyone on here has seen it. I used the 30% from MAA, and SOMEHOW, I lost almost all of it in three weeks.

That sh*t is f*****g poison... If you had luck with it, I am happy for you. I am just f*****g shocked they hand that garbage out like candy.

Yeah well, that sh*t saved my hair. And let me tell you this, or @whatevr, since he's on this thread:

Regenepure is even EASIER to get medications mixed in. You can order as much Finasteride, Progesterone, spironolactone even, or anything
you like, within ten minutes they get it for you. Never saw anything like it.

I continue to take it like WATER.

Don't worry though, I WON'T pay you take it. LOL. It's just ashame, that's all. You could grow all of it back.

But, you have to be happy with your appearance at the end of the day, not me.

Call Regenepure (Promox). If you think MedicalWell center hands it out like candy, YOU AIN'T seen NOTHING. lol.

I'm gonna continue on my candy, as my density is getting better.

In fact, with the Latanoprost in, my hair grows around one inch per month, if not longer. Hard to believe, isn't it.

The AA solution comes with the biotin, so I didn't pay extra for it. As long as it does no harm, doesn't matter if it's in there, I guess. @rclark, did you get growth in areas without hair with the 30% or just increased density of existing hair areas?

ok, i used murrays products from the 12%, to 15% to 30% with all the additives possible without any success over the course of year in 2014-2015. I did NOT get any regrowth, and at best it might have slowed down my hair loss. I will say that I never felt any sides from it. The cost which was at the time $60 for a script and $90 for the bottle of cream became too expensive for something that was not working. I also tried her biotin lotion and melatonin with no success.

What I thought was very shady, was that I emailed Susan and told her that her products were not working for me, and the next steps to try. She never responded back to me. At best she could have told me she didnt know. But remember she is a pharmacist, not a doctor; she is not here to diagnose just make and count prescriptions. And yes, she is clearly taking over the niche market by dr lee which from reading old posts, more members seemed to have had success with his formula. And i think susan's ingredients are all real, but imo, if you are not responding to reg minoxidil or oral finasteride, this sh*t will not do a damn thing for you.

And forum wise the only 3 ppl I have heard had success with it is jazz, kgatton and now rclark. So 3 ppl. So it clearly doesn't work for the majority of ppl.

Just heard about this, now checking it out. The only products I can see for sale that I'm interested in is the progesterone treatment, any good? How do you get all the other crazy topicals?

you simply fill out a prescription form online for $90 I think, they approve it and then they will make you almost anything. Progesterone treatment is garbage. Compounded minoxidil, garbage... I mean, you can try, but there is ZERO science to any of this. All sh*t wild theory.

90.00 dollars? What? You haven't ordered in a long time. It's half that. It's 49.00 prescription.

Also, you ONLY PAY if you get the prescription, which has the doctor's name on it.

Did you even try Promox (Florida based). They also prescribe even more.

Progesterone is not bullshit. Far from it. In fact, there are government studies, and it is only second to spironolactone in women. True fact
my friend. For women's androgen alopecia.

Don't knock it until you give it some solid months. Try to have an open mind. Progesterone is not garbage.

Did you try Klein's formula yet? You can even dermaroll it. It is more liquid (still lotion). And they will give you high volumes of
Finasteride / Progesterone, and even spironolactone, if you pass (there doctor's fee is 66.00 dollars).

Okay you so seem much more optimistic, I'll go with you. So Progesterone is just for women then? What is Klein's formula?

I'm looking for a topical to add to my regime of finasteride and S5 cream to save my hairline, any suggestions from this site?
