Blocks 80 something percent of type II enzyme. Dutasteride in the high 90's with type II and around 50 for type I.

Well 5 mg of finasteride blocks 90% of type II dht I believe. I don't know of anyone here taking 5 mg a day of finasteride, most take around 1 mg a day, and I think 1 mg finasteride blocks around 80% of type II. finasteride blocks a very tiny amount of type I, less than 1 percent.

0.5 mg a day of dutasteride will block 98.5% of type II and 50% of type I, so it is far superior to finasteride.

Well, like I said on another thread entitled "WOW Finpecia!!!," so fa so good.

I am experiencing this incredible feeling of not having any "scalp pain" since taking the pills. It is amazing, I can move my hair in any direction and feel absolutely nothing at all.

Before, it would hurt, on the top of the head I mean, not the sides and the back. Now nothing, just like when I was a kid, amazing.

Let's see if I get any regrowth or if at least I keep what I got.

Peace

Bubka, after how long since first taking the pills did you experience that ? 'Cause in my case it happened really fast...after the first 2 or 3 pills...I was amazed.

And also, I read that you've been on it since 2005....how did you respond so far ? 'Cause I read somewhere that people who experience the "no scalp pain" effect when starting taking it are the ones who respond very good to finasteride.

Thanks...future

actually been on since 2000

i don't remember how fast the pain stopped, i did not always have the pain, though i do know it ceased pretty soon

i always attributed the pain to wear a hat all day, the weight of the hat or rubbing, i don't know, but soon after a started propecia, the pain went away, then knew it was likely dht related, and not that hat...

do you take finpecia (or any other generic)? if so---for how long, and has it been as effective as propecia?

If no scalp pain = good responder to finasteride, then I must have got the short end of the stick. I have zero scalp pain, occasional itch, no response - yet.

Or, are you offering to Finpecia over Propecia?

I just recently ordered finpecia offline at Evopharmacy. To start me off, before I choose to add minoxidil, is 1/4 a day okay? Just double checking..
