What Registers As “bald” In Most People’s Eyes

Or “balding”, rather?

Does the average person notice slight crown thinning on someone who’s NW0-1 and think of them as washed up future cueballs in denial?

Im starting treatment and just want to know the probability that people have been gossiping behind me back the way they do about NW3+ people

A strong nw2 friend of mine told me "you're balding dude" because I'm diffuse thinning yet I got a nw0.5-1, told him that he's balding too cuz his hairline basically looked buttshaped but he didn't believe and my other friend who has some knowledge about balding laughed cause the kid was in denial, however, nobody ever told him he's balding yet they tell me. So I believe they register you as bald when you start hitting the nw4 area with a bald spot on your crown and thinning infront or you're diffuse thinning like me. You're far away from any normie calling you out on balding from what I've seen in your pics.

EDIT: also when you're buzzed it's never going to look perfect as all people have areas thinner than other areas except few BLESSED people. That slightly thinner area will never be enough to be called bald, and anyone that calls you that you should know is just trying to upset you or mess with you. I've seen you post on looki** and you should stop being insecure about your appearance so much, you look legit good now gtfo these sites please.

to th op......you need to get familar with afro hair......the picture you showed of the back of your hair is not balding but just tightly curled....see this in most people who are black or part black......dude your hair is amazing and no one on earth would look at you and think balding....in fact they would look at your hair in admiration.
please get on with your life and enjoy yourself friend.

As you pointed out, most people won't notice you're balding until norwood 3+, then some people will already consider you bald at that point.

Just curious, what treatment are you starting?

Those pictures were all taken after at least an hour of brushing. The fact that you would suggest that even after i’ve groomed my crown obsessively is a bad sign

My left temple seems to be going too - it looks noticeably thinner than the test of my hairline under harsh light

This is a very typical hair loss pattern for black/brown people: it starts at the crown while the hairline stays relatively intact

Looks and youth are everything in today's world. I spent most of my youth being fat and depressed so going bald feels like my life is ending before it even began. I honestly believe it's one of the worst things that can happen to a person. There's nothing frivolous about any of this: a man's quality of life (from an emotional perspective, which is more important than money, achievements, etc.) is directly correlated with how appealing he is to women.

First of all @Ikarus: may I ask why you disliked my post above.

@Norwoodhell. Yes going bald can be a very bad thing to happen to you. It is very possible that YOUR emotional quality of life is directly correlated with how appealing he is to women. That does not meant that this is the case for everyone and it DEFINITELY does not mean that this is a healthy belief system. Also, you are not balding (as many people have already told you) so this whole balding thing does not apply to you.

I literally spent 3 hours brushing my hair just now and it still looks like it’s been mauled by a tiger

I’ve been observing balding people’s head a lot lately, and they look just like mine: they have the same thing whispy hairs laid flat over a grotesque, reddish patch of scalp that probably burns like crazy

You can see a bit of scalp at the top of most black fullheads when they’re under direct light, but those areas are usually pretty tight/small compared to mine
