Hi Guys,

What do you all think which stage of norwood am i cuurently at right now 5 NW5 or NW6? Doctor advise that i would at least need 6000graft to get back my density, but he's not confident that i have enough donor hair.
Currently on minoxidil/finasteride/microneedling for almost two week now.

stay on minoxidil/finasteride/microneedling for at least a year...

then get a hair transplant with a good surgeon, maybe you wont need that many grafts if you got regrowth

Looks like you still have a decent amount of alive follicles. Like Hairs45 said, stay on treatment for about a year before going forth with a transplant.

I'd say about NW5. Like others have said it's a good idea to stay on treatment alone for a while to see if you might be able to get back some decent ground before getting a hair transplant.

Yes, i'm consider lucky as still having tiny hair on my frontal, temple, and crown. Its definitely growing. Maybe i should wait for a year before getting a hair transplant.
I'll update the progress here

It scared me when i see my horseshoe hairline is coming, i thought i'm visually a NW6 which is too far beyond to save. I hope i can get those hair back by microneedling 1.5mm. How long should i stay for treatment alone before getting a hairtransplant? Im kind of impatient right now, i have hair transplant appointment at february

That would be a good idea. You may save some money on the number of grafts needed, also you want your hair loss to stabilize before gettinga transplant anyways. Finasteride will help prevent further loss. Additionally, you want to know if you will be able to handle these drugs long term so give it a trial of close to a year. The reason we all mentioned a year is because that's typically when finasteride gains are at their peak.

I said NW5 since you still have some hair on top whereas on NW6 you are virtually slick bald on top, though you are bald either way. Like others said it is recommended to stay on treatment for at least a year or so just to see what/if it can regrow, but the meds often don’t regrow and rather just maintain or slow the process down, and you have really bad hair loss so it is not likely you’ll gain a decent head of hair back with only treatment, so you will either way need a transplant. The choice is yours when you’ll do the transplant of course.

I'm just tired & sickening of shaving my head twice a week, i want a hairstyle like ordinary people. I had consulted a hair transplant doctor, he said i might not having enough donor hair which is depressing. You're correct, i should be more patient and wait for better improvement

Thanks for your advise, i'll try to recover as much hair before a hairtransplant. I saw a bunch of people here succeed with microneedling, i think this will help with regrowth

Quick update of a week progress

Seems like there's improvement? could be just different angle & lighting?

A week is way too early to see improvement, it takes months to potentially see something.
