Hi everyone,

Finasteride has worked great for me for almost 10 years, My hairline has gotten worse slowly over time, so I thought maybe I can use a boost in my regimen by switching over to dutasteride. After a big shed, my hair stabilized but not at the hairline. Kept itching and crawling back up, but now at an alarming rate!

After a year on dutasteride I started using finasteride again, but now Im using them both. After over 4 months on finasteride and dutasteride, hairline is still itchy and going up. Should I just drop the dutasteride, or wait it out a little more? dutasteride must have done something, because there was now thinning up top during my dutasteride only year. Also my hair maybe even got a little thicker. Why is my hairline going crazy? It doesn't itch as bad anywhere else.

I haven't taken dutasteride for 2 days, I think that, if I am gonna keep using it, Ill use it once every three days, because of the half life.

Maybe I'm better off in the long run with dutasteride? Its eating away my hairline but after that maybe it will stabilize? Its stronger than finasteride so it should be doing more right? Besides this, I am very much open for additions to my regimen. I'm using:
1,25 mg finasteride ed
0,5 mg dutasteride ed
1mg minoxidil 5% 2d
2% keto shampoo couple times a week
Spectral dnc-n ed

Hi Ryan,
I do not know exactly what is going on with your hair. Instead of speculating on the cause, I will just tell you what I recommend you do. Taking Finasteride and Dutasteride does not seem to be a bad idea (at least for your hair). Worst case, you get no benefit from using both at once. Using Dutasteride every 3rd day does not seem like a bad idea either, due to the long half-life. I had severe scalp itch for years. Ketoconazole helped a bit at first, but eventually just made my scalp itch more and red. What worked for me was PRP+ACell treatment, L'oreal pyrithione zinc shampoo, Alpecin caffeine shampoo, and Cetirizine (Cetirizine did not help nearly as much as the others). I realize that you may not be able to get PRP+ACell treatment, but it definitely helped me THE MOST. Try to use as many of those things as you can, and it should help your problem. When shampooing, I use each one separately. Also, make sure to be getting all essential vitamins and minerals.
