What type of microneedling should I get?

So been on finasteride+min for over a decade and overall I've kept most of my hair the same. But now suddenly my hairline has gotten blurry compared to few months ago so I want to try microneedling for that area.

I just have no idea what type to get. Should I get a roller, pen or stamp? Also any thoughts on how many mm's? I noticed many of them are 0.25. Shouldn't it be in the 0.5-1.5 mm range?

Thanx.

I advice getting an adjustable dermastamp. Dermarollers are the worst. Dermapen is tiresome. Just get a dermastamp where you can adjust the pin size. I use 0.75mm on temple area which doesn't cause any bleeding or pin point bleeding at worst. For the crown area i use 1.00.

If you're gonna be using at temple area that is completely bald, it means the scalp skin in that region is thinner than other areas with hair. So you use adjust it depending how thin the scalp is in that area. The rule of thumb is, find the pin point bleeding inch size and go a little lower than that. If it's 1.00mm then go 0.75mm like i did.

I only use it when i want to cross the skin barrier for a topical btw. I don't think it's beneficial to go higher than 1.00mm, i've heard doctors saying that you may damage existing miniaturized follicles if you go too high.

Alright. I was leaning towards either a pen or stamp because they go straight down, not at an angle like the rollers. I also noticed a study that compared 0.6 and 1.5 needles, showing better results for the 0.6 group. So I was also thinking about having them under 1 mm rather than over.

How often do you use it? And do you wait 24 hours before applying a topical?

Thank you for the advice. I think I'll start with an adjustable stamp.

I apply topical immediately after using dermastamp to get it past the skin barrier. Since i use 0.75 and 1.00 ,i don't really need to have to wait for a week, i can use it daily.

I have a buzz cut so that also makes it easier. One thing i use to keep the scalp skin healthy is that i use head and shoulders' scalp tonic/gel which has seramid and niacinamide in it. I like that a lot, very moisturizing.

Yeah studies favour 0.6mm, bro science favours as deep as possible.

Frequency and duration is something I have no idea about. I also put topical on straight away to take advantage of what I imagine is increased absorption.
