What will be known after Phase II trials?

After the Intercytex (spelling?) Phase II trials are done, will we know if that treatment works? I know there will be a third phase also, but is that more b/c it is required and also to try it out on a larger area? I am thinking about getting an hair transplant in 2008, but if the Phase II trials go well I might hold off.

My understanding is that a few things will be known after Phase II trials.

For one, the Phase I trials showed hair growth in 5/7 patients, but the hairs were thin. I don't know if they were vellous or not, but I did hear that they were thin, meaning that maybe they were thinner than the other hairs on the rest of the head (side and back). So hopefully Phase II trials will test a greater dosage of injected follicular cells, which will grow hairs that are as thick as the hairs from which the cells were taken.

Another thing they will learn is how the injected cells grow in completely bald areas, AND how they will grow in thinning areas of the scalp.

I would hold off on getting an hair transplant until the results of the Phase II trials are in, which should be at the beginning of 2008 anyway, according to the recently posted web links.

if i were you id hold off for a while, because by early 2008 we should know if HM works or not, if it works wonderfully well without any sides then phase 3 should be pretty short and sweet (they might even enable HM in countries that are not as strict as the UK)

To answer my own question; I found this while checking out Intercytex's website regarding Phase II trials:

This phase should conclude with evidence of whether the treatment works, which patient population to target and what is the optimal dose to strike a balance between beneficial effect and side effects.

Don't forget, i needed to be with in reach as well..

if initial price is set to 90k , i bet none of us will be able to effort it..

and also it seems like the best u can get is 1 hair per injection. thats mean in order to get 2000 hair u will need 2000 injections.. and i am not sure how this is going to play out

If I knew HM was going to be here within 10 years I would go straight to Dr. Armani and get a low hairline transplant. I dont care how expensive or good HM is initially, just to know that it works will give me peace of mind.
