What would you call this type of hair loss?

Meaning, what type of hair loss?

About four years ago I lost hair mainly due to stress (I think). Since then I'm not losing hair, but the hair that I naturally lose (whatever the average for a person is-50 to 100 a day?) isn't growing back. That adds up and I'm noticeably thinning on top. The individual follicles seem to be getting thinner also. Using concealer now. I'm 51 and in good health. No one in my family lost hair at 51 or ever, to my knowledge.

This is probably a rookie question but, any answers? Any treatment suggestions?

Thanks

If hair isn’t growing back, that’s androgenic alopecia. You may not be shedding more than usual, but the lack of growth is very much a consequence of androgenic alopecia. You also have to consider that this could be age related thinning.

I appreciate the responses. Androgenic alopecia might be the cause. The only problems I have with that are that it doesn't run in my family, no obvious loss of T level and I don't have a receding hairline, which they say is the most common sign. Maybe this is all wishful thinking on my part.

I'm going to keep reading the forum. I'll look into Folisin.

Thanks.
