What’s causing my itchy scalp? Itching on hairline and sides.

My scalp, particularly my hairline and sometimes the sides, have been itching every now and then these past few weeks. I have a lot of dandruff and dry scalp. I’m not sure if it’s caused by male pattern baldness, or something else such as inflammation from my dermatitis. I’ve posted many pics of my hairline with members saying I’m not experiencing hairloss. However I shed very easily. This is how much hair I shed by running my through my head back in fourth yesterday morning:

Is my dermatitis the culprit?

You seem to be also shedding short hairs, male baldness causes all of the things you mentioned, especially in young cases. And there appears to be a bunch of short hairs in the hairline indicating miniaturization.
How long have you been shedding, did it start one day out of nowhere?

I’ve been shedding a good amount of hair since I was 15-16 but yeah the short hairs are what concerns me.

Does shedding short hairs always mean male pattern baldness? I hear Telogen Effluvium and seb derm can cause shedding of short hairs too

Dermatitis is also a DHT artifact so you are right to be concerned. Both Keto and Selsun Blue are great for inflammation so I would seek those out immediately. You hair is still really good from what I can tell so try to reduce inflammation and then maybe try 2% minoxidil which is probably less likely to induce shedding than 5%.

There is some thinning in the temples but very little in front of the ears. I am not as familiar with the balding patterns of Asians but since there tends to be less baldness, I know you want to keep or grow back as much as possible. If the shampoos don't help pretty quickly then consider Min/finasteride.
