Whats the difference between dutasteride and finasteride

Ok, As I am considering my options, I today fell upon dutasteride. So Whats the difference between dutasteride and finasteride. Seems like people first try finasteride and only if finasteride does not work dutasteride is tried.

Why is that? I never had either of them. Should I stick to starting with finasteride or I can try dutasteride too

You should stick to trying finasteride, because its approved by the FDA and many users have great results with it with no side effects. If after 12-24 months on finasteride you see a decline in hair, then you could CONSIDER dutasteride.
