When does one experience change while on propecia?

The reason I'm asking is, as I'm on the big 3, if a change did happen, how would I know that it came from propecia?

And when should you start to experience this change?

What's months would this be between.

most guys grow their tits 4-8 months while on propecia. I would imagine it would be the same for you

3 months - you may notice a reduction in hair lost
6 months - you may notice healthier hair being lost
9-12 months - you may notice thicker hair, if youre lucky

Here's what happened to me:

Month 1: Nothing

Month 2: Slight improvement on the crown

Month 3: Considerable improvement on the crown, could no longer see through the hair while facing a mirror. Can still see thin areas with a mirror to look at the back of my head.

Month 4-7: Slow but steady improvement.

Month 8: Believe it or not, minor shed. I noticed no increase in fallout, but certainly I lost some results.

Month 9: Recovery. Areas that had "shed" regrowing.

Month 10: Like a bolt from the blue, hair line movement. Considerable change, while it's not perfect, the hairline is much closer to being square.

Month 11: Crown almost fully filled in now. Month 11 is technically August 1 for me, but whatever, close enough.

I've been on Accutane as well since Month 8.

Axon, when you talk about your crown, was your hair thin from the frontal hairline to the vertex? I'm curious as to where your results were.

Thanks.

Axon, I would attribute the hair regrowth to the Minoxidil instead of the Propecia.

Crown - the standard place of the "bald" spot. Not the entire scalp. With the exception of hairline recession, the hair on the front of my scalp is as good as the day I got it.

Considering that I haven't applied Minoxidil in 7 weeks and that I've experienced the most cosmetically significant change in those past 2 months, I have to respectfully disagree.

Sorry to all the OMG FINASTERIDE MAKE U DIEH OMG IT KILLD MY DOG MERCK WANTS TO MAKE UZ ALL BALDHHH!!!!111 guys, but Finasteride has been mainly responsible for my regrowth, which can most accurately be described as deminturization.

I never saw one "white" budding hair or any of that crap; the hair I had just reversed its thinning. Even on the hairline. So I'm probably screwed on the areas that no longer have those short, thinner hairs. Ah well.

I have been on propecia and rogaine for about 2 months now. I use the minoxidil sparingly on the temples because I dont have the balls to place it on the areas full of hair because it will cause a shed which will make me look like I am losing my hair even more. Anyway back to the propecia. I started taking propecia in June of 2002. I then ran out of propecia by the 9 month mark in early Feb of 2003. In the 9 months of using propecia I noticed that I wasnt losing that many hairs anymore, but I didnt notice any significant regrowth. By month 9 I also noticed my head was getting really thick in the non balding areas.
I ran out of my propecia tabs and became lazy and forgot to order a new batch. Then 2 months later in late April 2003 I started to notice some frontal recession and I ordered proscar. It is now late july and my hair seems to be getting thicker and fuller. When I started up again in may the first thing I noticed were some hairs sprouting along the hairline (must be the rogaine) but as of right now no more new hairs sprouting. I am probably going to have to be consistent with the minoxidil. My libido was also down for the first month and a half and now its much better, I would have to say about 90%.

Right on. The "worst" part of my hair loss is about 1-2 inches in back of my hairline. REALLY wierd. Also the part of my head that itches the most too. Irritation... grrr.

I see that "right behind the hairline" loss in a lot of overall diffuse thinners.

My opinion of Rogaine and Propecia, worthless crap. Unfortunately these drugs are not a cure for hairloss. They may buy you some time, but in the end they are not going to save your hair. Neither drug is really capable of starting new growth cycles.

Man, I am so over this Minoxidil and Propecia crap. What is the use in buying extra time and looking good along the way, yeah, and I am not too into getting pussy either, so I think this stuff is all so not worth it. Plus, I hate the fact that people start complimenting me on how much better my hair looks. This is all so lame! I am so over it. What the f*** was I thinking!
