I am just wondering what's the best time. I am going to be microneedling once weekly with a 1mm dermaroller on my hairline and then applying minoxidil 24 hrs later.

I usually always wash with a mild shampoo in the morning too. I also apply a conditioner afterwards. Should i apply my conditioner on days when I dermaroll or skip the conditioner and just use shampoo? Also, when should I dermaroll on these days? Do I need to preswab my hairline with alcohol?

But... I meant to fit into my routine.

I'd have to wash my hair before, then after dermarolling so idk..
So long as you disinfect the derma roller washing the scalp prior is not required….. Unless you have a unclean scalp due to your environment.

What?? Aren't you supposed to disinfect the scalp prior? Otherwise you'd be introducing bacteria.

You can’t disinfect the scalp! You wash your scalp, the needles have to be clean and disinfected. The human body always comes in contact with bacteria, which remains on your body and scalp. I been washing my hair everyday for years and using a derma roller for years. I always disinfect the derma roller after usage, never had any issues.

No. What i mean is washing it, preferably with shampoo. Because otherwise there would likely be bacteria on your scalp left over by stuff you've been doing during the day even if its not visible dirty. Then when you roll the dermaroller wouldnt it introduce / push the bacteria into the scalp? imo not washing the scalp prior to dermarolling is equivalent to not disinfecting the dermaroller, because it doesnt matter if theres bacteria on one or the other : theres still some bacteria

I wash my scalp daily and have done with a good shampoo that contains ketaconazole. Yes I would advise washing the scalp prior, I use Nizoral and Regenepure DR, both great. The derma roller must be disinfected at all times as you want the needles to be clean. I never had any issues all the years I been derma rolling as I always disinfect the derma roller after use.
