When The Doctor Asks You: "do You Take Any Medication?"

I hate that question, whenever I am going to a doctor. When I tell them, that I am taking Finasteride for my hair, they treat me as a complete fool: *blub* "unknown long term effects" *blub* "hormonal changes" *blub* "only because of hair".....

I know, that doctors are not stupid, most of them more intellingent than me, but I seriously wonder, whether I would hear similiar accusations if I would tell them that I smoke like 15 cigarettes a day? Whatever one might think about PFS, the death rate of smokers is definetly much higher. And smoking has basically no benefits unlike Finasteride, which gives us hair. I am also very lean and fit, yet these idiots (both male and female) act as if I am a complete retard because of my finasteride intake.

Next time I am going to a doctor, I am gonna ask straight forward whether fat smokers hear similiar rubbish.

P.S.: And most of the time I do not even mention that I am buying generics from an online pharmacy.....

To be honest, I think they're 100% right in treating you that way. Anyone who would wilfully feminise themselves for the sake of a few follicles is an idiot. Wear a wig and move on with your life. It's all about confidence anyway, that's what chicks really dig.

I'm really glad I found my current primary care Doctor. She's finasteride friendly, and she signed off on all my 3rd party doctor approval for my transplant without giving me any sh*t, seems genuinely interested in making sure I get what I want

She's also hot

Shut up you piece of sh*t. You're the one who wants to f*** your own sister.

Tsk tsk, no need to be rude. The post you quoted was intended to be satirical, but I won't give you any chagrin for it, a functional IQ of greater than 30 (much like DHT resistance) isn't a gift given to everyone after all.
Hugs and kisses,

Doctors have never mentioned it to me, but nurses have. Last visit i had the nurse said "and you take finasteride for....... Hairloss?? Wow I guess they have meds for everything now" Then she said what I hear alot "but it doesnt look like you need that" . Thats the annoying part because I always respond "well then its working right?" Not only do people mock you for hairloss, they mock you for treating it.

A few months back two of my friends, both balding, were having an argument with me when one of the snapped "Dude its ok DM uses rogaine LOLOLOL" I could have easily fired back at his hairloss, he's in denial but worse off than me, I just felt f$%#ing defeated like what the hell man?

As a long time smoker I can assure you that 15 minutes of every doctor's appointment is spent on the Doctor trying to convince me to quit smoking so no you don't have it worse than smokers lol.

Where a wig he says, and move on.

Just throw it on, and all your problems are magically gone

Be proud of taking finasteride. All about the illusion of masculinity, while in reality parading around with eunuch levels of DHT but with aesthetic hair.

On a serious note, always tell ya Doctor. It's their job to help you and they may need to know in case of unrelated illness or interaction with other drugs.
It's not a big deal. Surprisingly, a lot of doctors have no ides what finasteride is. They don't think of it as "Oh, this guy is balding. Hardy har har." Not everyone loves putting bald people down, but there are sure as hell a lot of people like that.

Not my fault if your "masculinity" is destroyed by a tiny amount of Finasteride.......Mine isn´t!

Lol, I hear exactly the same. It makes me even more speechless. Isn´t that the whole point of taking hair loss medication?

My own GP prescribed me Dutasteride, so they know obviously.

What it is though is when I go and see a specialist, and then they ask me if I take any medications. I tell them straight that I take 0.5 mg of Dutasteride daily to keep my balding treated, and I also tell them that I use 5% Minoxidil twice daily.

I haven't been given a hard time by any medical professional whom I've seen for caring about my hair loss. :)

I hate when I see a specialist, and they ask me this question.

I list all the medication I take, then it's followed by by

'what do you take it for'

ME: 'hair loss'

When I first went to get my prescription of it renewed, it was this balding old f*** who tried to convince me that I don't need it. People in the medical field are often real pieces of sh*t when it comes to hairloss. I had to see 3 doctors before one of them gave enough of a sh*t to tell me that there was in fact something I could do instead of shrugging it off.

I would've told that nurse "Wow, you didn't know about such a basic medication? Guess they let everyone be nurses now lol" and see what she would've thought then.

I had two doctors feed me the same BS.
