My hair have been thinning for over a year now. And I have been on Proscar and Niziral for 2 months. My hair has started to fall more rapidly now, i have thinned fairly badly over the past 2 week!!!!

My question is when do you think I should add in regaine?

Also does this fallen out hair, grow back?

Thanks for any replies

You asked this question in a previous thread and received several answers. The answer is most certainly yes, but asking it repeatedly doesn't make it any more "yes" nor does it change it to "no."

Relax! Stressing may be exacerbating your situation.

A "shock shed" is common during months 1-3 after starting Minoxidil. The properties of minoxidil tend to accelerate the end of the resting cycle of hair growth, in anticipation of an acceleration of the subsequent growth cycle, which is a good thing. I believe the documentation that comes with Minoxidil describes this. If your minoxidil didn't come with such documentation, I believe that the Rogaine brand site goes over this in detail.

http://www.rogaine.com/4_expect.asp

"Remember, it’s perfectly normal if you shed some extra hair within the first few weeks as your new hair starts to grow. Don't worry — it's part of the regrowth cycle and a sign that Rogaine is starting to work in your scalp. Then you’ll probably start to see less hair in your drain and your brush. To see your best results, just keep using Rogaine twice a day, every day. "

OK, I just popped over to the General talk forum and checked out your pictures.

I don't normally recommend minoxidil for someone your age, but in your case I would definitely recommend it. It would fortify and help hold your density at the vertex for the very socially crucial next decade of your life.

I also read your comments in the thread over there, and I think you are over-estimating the "shock shed". It's not nearly as dramatic as some here make it out to be. I shed like crazy, but it did not make any impact on my overall hair appearance.

I think you're an ideal candidate for the Big 3.
