White Hair forms with minoxidil and usage of Hair Spray (or) Gel

I have been using Rogaine Liquid minoxidil 5% in the morning before I goto work on front of head. Additionally, I use a bit of hair spray (or) hair gel to style the thinner areas of hair in that area. Strangely enough it seems that these areas where hair gel or hair spray touches the Rogaine, a white frosting effect occurs on these hairs.

Anyone else experience this or have recommendations for sprays or gels while on minoxidil that don't cause this frosting effect?
