Who has taken Finasteride without side effects? Report here

Most of the posts about finasteride on forums are about how it is giving people side effects. Ive heard many say that it is a minority of people who have side effects on finasteride, but the way things look on message boards this would seem to be untrue.

Then again, people who have no side effects tend not to need to write posts about it.

So, I'm curious...who here has used finasteride with no side effects? I'm curious to see how many people on this board have had no sides compared to those who have

Did you guys do blood tests before- and after you began using propecia? Please post the results here, if you did.

Id also be curious, those who havent had sides... have you had NO SIDES what so ever at all? Or did you have sides that went away.

Also those guys who havent had them..was there some type of supplements or something that your Doctor recommended you take to help avoid them?

I'm making an appointment today to see a doctor about finasteride so im curious

Zinc would probably reduce the risk, but don't exceed RDA if you don't experience any side effects.

I think the reason that it appears most people have sides is because you only see complaints. People aren't going to make topics saying "hey, I haven't had any sides!" You'll only see responses to posts like these.

As for me, I had some testicle ache on and off for 3 months. I've pretty much been fine since then, just passed 5 months this week.

Well it would be hard to say what my results are from as I started minoxidil and Nizoral first got great results with just those and after 2 years my hair gains started to fade and that's when I added finasteride. I will say since then I have maintained and have healthy hair but I would not say I got alot of regrowth, probably just some thickening. I credit all (or at least most) my regrowth to minoxidil.

***Also I used generic finasteride (Teva) 5mg that I quarter except for two months, those 2 months I used Propecia (name brand) but then went back to generic because Propecia is WAYYYY too expensive for me especially since my Wife and I have the expense of a newborn.

Alright. Just wondering because I started minoxidil and nizoral 6 months ago, got a lot of thickening/regrowth/darker hair (I'm a NW3 diffuse thinner, pretty severe) after 2 months, then it started going downhill again after that, before it thickened up again after around 3 1/2 months, before losing color/thickness after that again, and now it has been like this for the last 1 1/2 months. Added finasteride a month ago, because I though that the DHT interfered with my minoxidil results, but nothing has changed so far, and I'm starting to get worried. I fear I'll never get back to the point I was at 2 months/3 1/2 months on minoxidil.

I just don't get it.

Give it time. It took me 1 full year to get the results I got. After 6 months I was thinking the stuff was not working and then each month after that I started to see things change. Hang in there my friend, hair is lost gradually over time and that is the same way it is regrown.

9 years but with merck propecia 1mg only. Daily take and only at night. Kept most of my hair and only the temples slightly receded. Mainly the right temple side. Using spectral DNC lotion to try and regain but no hope.

3 years on brand name Propecia and no problems.
The first year I had itching nipples and breast tenderness though, but it went away.
