Why doesn't Propecia maintain 'minoxidil hairs'..

Ok, I'm probably miles off here, but I always thought:

Minoxidil = Regrowth

Propecia = Maintainence

So, how come hairs produced through minoxidil fall out if you stop minoxidil, but carry on with Propecia. Surely a DHT inhibitor would stop these hair-follicules from being clogged-up again.

Or are hairs produced by minoxidil 'not proper hairs' for some reason..??

I would be amazed if anyone can answer this one rigorously with data. I say that because all of our posturings are largely based on theory of male pattern baldness and how these drugs MIGHT actually do what they do.

For example, yes I have experienced regrowth using minoxidil alone but also using propecia and minoxidil. Which one did it? Wait, I was also using folligen and nizoral too, did they generate the regrowth? Well, I don't know for sure and I assert no one else does either.

As far as maintenance, really hard to define and yes, since I now on a different regimen and maintaining my hair, well, again, which drug is it??

That is why I advocate a mult modal approach. We often speak here like these statements are absolutes and they are far from that.
