Why is it easier to regrow hair in the crown?

and so hard or in many cases impossible to regrow terminal hair in other areas, like the temples.

(Of course i'm talking about Minoxidil. Just in case.) :)

I've found the exact opposite results to that of the studies. If anything, I've had greater difficulty growing at my crown, than my temples and hairline on minoxidil.

In fact, I still have tiny bit more to go at my crown. However, if I wanted, I could grow hair on my forehead with minoxidil... so I have to be very careful when applying. :freaked2:

I believe Bryan stated once that Proctor believes there is some special androgen or other factor or something that only effects the frontal hair, which is why its so hard to regrow.

I had some sucess on temples but not up in my head.

Sorry for the off-topic discussion. But IBM, who are those gentlemen in your avatar? They look so familiar. Obviously, they're in the computer science field. Are they the programmers of Big Blue/Deep Blue?

No, it´s not easy to regrow hair in the crown.

At least for me.

I have to say the crown has responded quite well to treatment in my case. I'm slowly making progress on my front, but not comparable to the top of the head.

Well in my case, I stopped applying minoxidil in my crown, because only with Propecia I managed to contorl that area, and looking for regrow.

So I only apply minoxidil on my temples, and looking to regrow there, if I have luck, because till now, it looks damn hard.. Maybe gonna add some Retinol. Gonna reach the 2 months soon and till now, only saw, very very very small hairs, vellus, that you need to look very close to notice them. Not sure if they are gonna turn terminal. :(

Greetings.

Actually, Ken Thompson was the designer and originator of Belle. As far as I know, he was never connected with Deep Blue.

You Googled that information, didn't you. :) Anyway, I knew they looked familiar... especially Ken. I remember seeing him lecture around ten years ago. Computer pioneers.

No, I did not. I've been interested in computer chess for many many years. I've known about Belle, BEBE, Deep Thought, Deep Blue, Chess 4.7 and its iterations, and numerous other chess software and machines for a long long time. I have a copy of Chess Skill In Man and Machine sitting right here in my bookcase. I have stacks of old computer magazines sitting around, just for their monthly columns on computer chess. Same for the computer chess issue of Scientific American from several years ago, and other magazines, too.

I agree. I have no trouble using minoxidil to fill in my hairline and temples, but the crown and vertex are thinner than ever - the hairs there look like the last German stragglers out of Stalingrad.

I just picked up a tube of Retin-A, so hopefully I'll be able to make a difference on top. Joseph - I'll update your minoxidil/Retin-A thread when I've started my combo.
