I mean that guy has a net worth estimated at 125.7B USD and he is bald if he threw like a bilion dollar into a hair loss research we would all be cured within like 3 years.
He has everything facilities, connections and tons of money to get us a cure.
I mean he is bald, he knows how much it sucks and don’t tell me “oh, he doesn’t care because he is rich.”
Everyone cares about their hairloss, it’s always in the back of your head.

And what about Elon Musk? He has 19B dollars he could throw a 100 mil to fund a research, surely it will be profitable!
And Musk actually got a hair transplant and probably on finasteride so why the f*** won’t he help us.
Is it because it’s not as glamorous as colonizing mars?

Also what about Zuckerberg, I mean he is clearly receeded and looks ridiculous with his combed over haircut.
He could do something noble and help cure hairloss.

You see, this is the problem! There is so much stigma about treating or curing hairloss.
This is why guys never talk in real life about how much hairloss is depressing them and play it down and this is why celebrities hide the fact that they got a hair transplant.
Curing hairloss is not cool nor is it considered something significant, when in fac it can destroy your life.
No one wants to be the guy that cures hairloss or actually funding one.
People look down on you if you tell them you’re getting a hair transplant or using meds
And they’ll probably look the same way on someone trying to cure hairloss.
I think there is a lack of awareness about hairloss, people need to know how much it adversely affects someone’s life, how it can drive them into depression.
Normal people think hairloss is something normal you just shave your head and deal with it but it’s not.
There should an alopecia awareness day.
I mean if there is a day for everything, there should be one for hairloss.

Sorry for the rambling, I’m drunk and a little bit high so...

Throw as much money as you like, there will be a diminishing marginal return effect on whats discovered. Even if drugs and topicals were discovered you still cant bypass the average 11 years it takes of phase 1-3 in clinical trials. They'd experience the same problem going down the stem cell route - so really our best hope is actually the work already being done in Japan.

Unless.. Bezos buys an island somewhere. Makes it his own country so no clinical trial regulations exist...

What makes you think everyone is affected as hard as us?

Just because those of us in this forum have felt a hard blow doesn't mean everyone will. There's been wealthy bald people for a very long time, clearly they just don't give enough shits to invest in a cure and prefer to keep their money for other stuff.

Since when it's a money problem to finding a hairloss cure ? we have no more leads all the routes have been tried and none of them led to a cure, we still have cell therapy for hope but 90% of them will fail as some of them already did like prp

Bcs they’re smart enough to know, scientists are idiots when it comes to anything hairloss. Why invest when years after years it’s been shown scientists are incapable of finding a cure.

They’ll fund $1bill and in return they’ll get mice shop full of hairy mice

Why can’t they cure nearsightedness? I know compared to what we have for hair loss, glasses and contacts and Lasix seem great, but all three have annoying complications and side effects.

The only sh*t that has been “invented” lately is worthless social media, and capitalist schemes like Amazon.

They could speed up hair loss research a lot by funding it, but I guess they dont care enough personally to do it. It is very expensive, and the biggest problem is the regulation, and huge amount of time to get approval. Its those regulations and bureacracy that are real killers

Because when you are worth north of 10 billion dollars, your appearance is absolutely meaningless. Where there is nothing you could possibly want that you can't have, there is no reason to obsess over something that doesn't matter. Musk clearly got a transplant when he was younger, and for him, it was enough.

Bezos is, however, like so many other billionaires, investing in longevity treatments.

I think stem cells are the fountain of youth that I would be investing into if I had billions. Why do people die in old age? Most of the time its organs or something like your heart that fails, or cancer infects organs. Growing organs from stem cells seems very possible already, and when done for different types is a fountain of youth or as close as we might get. It seems within reach in the next 20-30 years
Growing an organ from some basic starter stem cells is the holy grail of medicine, and from what nature has shown us so far its possible, and much easier than someone might guess seeing how the cells already know what to do given the right chemical signals at the right times

we need old coots like you around here.

god bless your follicles. We cannot reverse our biological clock, but in time we can reverse and prolong our biological age - physically speaking.

If I had 127 bn dollars I'd shove it all into AI just saying.
The best way to help hair loss now is support the growth of the upcoming japanese industry, fund automation, raise public awareness, spread to low-regulation countries like the bahamas. Awareness and automation are crucial here, the demand is already huge.

because everyone thinks someone else will do it. plus the reasons other have mentioned.

yeah, according to the internet we are about to cure cancer, achieve immortality and colonize the solar system. in reality, apart from a couple of super expensive experimental therapies, all we've actually got are thinner laptops and higher res cameras, lol.

Bezos just wants to show you that you don't need hair to make billions of dollars.

who cares, at the end of the day he is still ugly. must feel great knowing everyone is probably only nice to you because you are rich.

50 years before this even takes off seriously. we are nowhere as close to achieving this as the media make it out to be.

As someone who does PR let me say that this will never ever ever happen to the degree you are hoping due to optics. Could you imagine the lynch mob that would come for Zuck if he was giving millions to male pattern baldness research instead of say cancer? Not only that but he would be ridiculed for eternity. If any of these men ever did fund research, you will never know about it. It would be through an investment fund. No one wants that press.

Also, why is this under New Research?

I started a thread once along these lines of questions. I honestly believe after thinking about it that he doesn't care. 127 BILLION dollars is literally "I don't give a f***" money, X1,000,000. He can buy mulitple islands, homes, jets, cars, women, art, friends, yes-men & women, countries, towns, cities, boats, and still not even notice he lost money. I read he makes 3 million dollars a day. His baldness is literally and utterly inconsequential.
