Why We Shouldn't Feel Bad About Hiding Our Hair Loss

Hey guys, I have been debating over whether or not to start using a concealer such as DermMatch because I'm going through a finasteride shed, and part of the reason I was hesitant was I was worried about someone noticing I was using it, but the other reason was I kind of felt as though I was cheating or was fooling people, especially women that my hair was not as good as it looked because of the concealer.

But....then I started to consider women wearing make up. Now, I don't know about you, but I have seen more than a few really attractive girls with make up who were less than attractive without it. I really wouldn't think these girls (or even guys) who wear make up on a consistent basis would attract the opposite sex as they would without make up, or even get ahead in life whether it be in a job, or a career in modelling or acting without wearing make up.

Why should we have to accept hair loss, and not feel good about ourselves or feel more attractive? It definitely wouldn't be a stretch to assume we could have more girls wanting to date us, or getting the other perks that a fuller head of hair has.

Thoughts?

Because men are supposed to accept it, simple, which is bollox. Regarding women and make-up, I agree 100%, a lot of the times, underneath all that fake tan, make up, lip stick, eye liner, there is an insecure women.

And underneath that caboki, toppik, dermamatch is an insecure man. I know that was quite a vague statement, but it's usually the simplest answers that are correct.

While I agree with you that we shouldn't just accept our hair loss and just try and be 'confident' as oh so many would like us to do, as men we shouldn't be little insecure girls about it either.

What I mean is, "Yes, you are now not as good looking as you were before. Accept it and move on with your life." Life is not fair. We are men. Hardship comes with the job.

Nothing wrong with hiding hairloss but I think if you are spending a large amount of time trying to hide it... basically trying to fight the inevitable.... then it is a bit sad really.

Women do wear make up but if they are ugly they are ugly, only so much make up can cover up. Same applies to hair loss treatments.

Mate, seriously, If it make you feel better do it. Its a bit of powder, its hardly cheating! And it can work wonders depending on the type of hair loss. Women wear extensions, make up that make them look like almost different people some times.

Its not a big deal in the short term if you want to tidy things up but if you get to the point where you won't answer the door without a bit of Toppik peppering then perhaps a private chat with yourself may be due. I'm not sure about hardship being the lot of men but it seems we have to fight the social pressures to look 'perfect' for our women's sake because if we cave in they are likely to be gibbering wrecks. It depends on the individual but generally I would say this is true.
