wow this is really one of the points why men try to gain back their lost hair...to look youthful and attractive again. There is no denying that our hair is what shows our youth, health and attractiveness. The hair is the one that frames our face and gives more personality..physically.

Now do women like bald men? this is a question that has extreme left wing and right wing people. Some women might say they prefer men with a full head of hair,,some would say they couldnt care less.

But the truth is this..physical attributes matter. They are a signal on how healthy a person is..how youthful he is and to the opposite sex this means having the neccessary healthy genes that will produce the best and healthiest offspring.

To us men this is really like preferring sexy healthy women...long hair..clear eyes..great skin...nice rack! nice ***...well u get the picture. We seek attributes that signal health. Its basically nature telling us what to look for.

So back to the main topic do women prefer bald men?.......no they dont ....at the start that is...because if this were entirely true and they didnt like bald men...women would be leaving their husbands or boyfriends of years because they were turning bald.

Men with baldness...or turning bald would not be attractive to them compared to the guy with the full head of hair (think mcdreamy)

But women are different...they are complex and their decisions change over time. Time plays a very important part in getting women. They develop feelings over time..compared to men in general upon seeing a beautiful sexy women and they've decided thats it.

this is where personality plays a huge part. Women seek also personal attributes that in nature will help in raising the next generation ( i know its very national geographic) Men with full heads of hair are considered agressive ..bald men are considered less of a threat and will most likely be focusing on the raising the young part.

to be continued....

Why do people ask this question?.

Women can't be categorized into liking or not liking bald/ balding men. There's no yes or no in this question. It depends on a lot of factors..
There are many bald men with beautiful girlfriends and wives.

You can't say that men with full heads of hair are "Aggressive" and bald men aren't. I don't understand where you could have came to this conclusion. Male Pattern Baldness is a genetic trait and can be inherited by any sort of person, even some women inherit it.

I understand that many women find Bald/ Balding men less attractive than men with full heads of hair, but the fact is that it is completely dependent on a variety of factors. Some women don't even find men attractive. Stop thinking about whether or not they find you or bald men attractive and just get on with things.

Whether or not you were worrying about this, the fact is that there is no point in even thinking about it. There can be no other conclusion to this question than just going out and believing that anything is possible, just as you did before you suffered any hair loss. I'm not here to lecture anyone because I still find hair loss very hard to deal with, so anyone contemplating this question, forget about it and go do something that you enjoy. Life isn't there to worry.

Hair loss being seen as unattractive is because of our society. On an animal level, it doesn't communicate unhealthiness. It can communicate maturity. Think about facial hair- it signals age and maturity, yet unlike baldness, countless men want facial hair but cant have it.

In our society, baldness has developed into an unattractive trait. It could have just as easily developed into a desirable trait. Things like this can change over time. In a few hundred years baldness might be considered the sign of being mature, and being an alpha male. There might be hair salons that specialize in giving people haircuts that make them look as if they're going bald!

Culture and society can change over time. Think about homosexuality, for example. In our society, it is seen as weak and sissy. There is a lot of homophobia out there. In the Roman empire it was seen much differently than it was today.

Societal opinions of baldness change and flow as culture changes and flows. Unfortunately, we live in a time when it is seen as undesirable and unattractive.

Primal instincts as influential as they are, are always viewed through the lens of culture. Sandoval is right in his observation of how the media has negatively influenced the social perception of bald people and how pervasive it's effects are. A young bald man has a steep uphill battle to overcome the stigma and prejudice that has been engrained in that woman's mind sitting next to him at the bar. Not saying it is impossible (look at Neil Strauss) but it takes fifty times more effort than the handsome NW1 sitting on her other side at the bar.

I was thinking back on all the men that I've known in my life. Some of them are seen as "a bald guy" and some aren't. There is a man that I knew a few years ago who had a shaved head, but he had a very distinct clothing style and he had tattoos. I never thought of him as "a bald guy" because he had such an outgoing personality and such a distinct style. I asked a mutual friend yesterday if they noticed that he our friend had been bald. The mutual friend hadn't even noticed that the man was bald!

My point is that if you have nothing else going on, women might lump you into a category as being "a bald guy." If you have a well put together clothing style and you're in good shape, then the fact that you're balding won't be your distinguishing characteristic anymore. It won't even be brought up.

The thing is though .... Every bald guy is different sure its easy enough for some guys to look ok with it (pass off the look). But for some its never going to happen.
And in my case (and probably the case of many on here) I did'nt want to have a distinct look, I dont want to get tattoos and dress up. I just want to fit in like everyone else.

I don't care what women think. I'm doing this for myself: I want to be able to look in the mirror everyday and like what I see.

I'm 5'7", skinny, and I've got feminine facial features (small chin, nose, big eyes, no beard etc) - I'm never going to be the masculine head shaver no matter how often I hit the gym. Weird bald man it is for me.
I see a lot of people who wear the look well, granted, and others not so much.

Caesar tried to hide his male pattern baldness with a laurel wreath, and Caligula tried to make it illegal for people to stand above him. I don't really think anyone, at any time, has thought of male pattern baldness as a boon.

Truth.

The only cultures where it sucked less hard were those where wearing headgear was desirable, e.g. arabic turbans, 17th century powdered wigs for the aristocracy (bald or not), and so on.

Opinions of baldness do change over time though. In the 70s and 80s a shaved head would be considered an extreme, counter cultural statement right? A woman in her 70s (family friend) told me I look like a neo-nazi. Her generation views shaved heads differently than my generation does.

This is extremely true! I think of pre industrial japan, where having the top of your head shaved and the rest of your hair long and tied up some way was hawt.

What are you gonna do? I read today that Michael Hutchence's first words to Kylie Minogue were "Shall we have sex now or do you want dinner first?". How many guys could get away with a line like that?
I know a guy (yeah he's a NW1) who walks up to women in clubs and just throws the lips on them, after the initial shock they never complain. Me? I'd get arrested.

No, not really. If a woman finds hairloss/baldness unnatractive thats her perogative. After all we dont like the way it looks either so who can blame them?

Hmm might agree with you if you said average NW6 vs handsome NW1 but not if the guy was a Vin Diesel or Jason Statham type. However very few NW6's are.

For NW1s: 1 out of 3 will go home with a decent looking girl tonight, and any night of the week.

Plenty of ugly/fat/short NW1's out there aswell.
