Will Finasteride Affect Adult Development? (21)

Hey guys, 21 Y/o relatively new to admitting that I'm losing my hair badly enough at the crown to intervene and fresh starter of Finasteride (1mg) as of today. I have enough hair that if I respond as well as a lot of others have, it may become hardly noticeable or at least buy me a few extra years of hair.

I am however a bit anxious about starting finasteride as it doesn't seem to be nearly studied enough and a lot of horror stories surrounding neurological, sexual, and developmental effects are floating around. I'm aware that although I am past the end age of puberty, men seem to change in a lot of ways in their 20s as they fill out more and start to look more like men. I wouldn't say I'm bad on this front with a full chest/torso of hair and semi-decent capacity for facial but I am for sure relatively boyish in the face and don't seem to have bulked up as much as my peers have (I bloomed early at around 14/15 and don't seem to have kept up during young adulthood).

I'd say I'm probably just now starting to notice the 'filling out' of my body and feeling like I'm becoming more like a man, but I'm worried that a lowered level of DHT is going to prevent this? Is anybody informed enough about this from their own experiences to give me a ray of hope to continue the medication as I already feel like I'm betraying my body!

I think you can (and maybe will) find all sort of opinions with some saying it will affect your body (further) development and give you all kind of sides and consequences while other will say it's just a pill that should be popped like candy. The truth is that I don't think anyone will be able to tell you. It is your own journey and ultimately you are the only one that will either live/enjoy the benefits or deal with unwanted sides. I sure hope you'll have a side free journey. One think you should do is pay attention to your body (not psychotically looking for signs of sides) so that you'll be able to observe any changes as soon as they appear (if they do at all). If you don't already do it, pick up a healthy custom of engaging in psychical activity at least 5 times a week and maybe even do some muscle training. Be kind and post updates maybe every 3-6 months; this way you can be part of an ongoing trial and error kind of self study that many people here do. All the good luck to you!
