Will Finasteride be available as a generic?

I've seen websites that supposedly offer finasteride as a generic. I checked the FDA website and it says that as of 10/14/04 it has a "tentative approval". But none of the pharmacies seem to carry it yet. Will it be available soon? Is it already available?

Patents are good in the US for 17 years. The generics that are available now (e.g. finpecia) are manufactured in countries (e.g. India) that do not recognize US patents. It is illegal to purchase these for import into the US, but the law is not really enforced. I have no idea when Propecia was patented.

Then go down to "Patent and Exclusivity Info for this product" and click "view"

I can't figure it out but it doesn't look like it'll be generic till about 2013
