Will HM help if we're maintaining our hair?

Say we're a NW2 or 3 thanks to whatever meds we're on when HM comes out in, say, 10 years. Sure, this is a good problem to have in some ways, but will we need to stop, lose our hair, and then be viable candidates for the procedure?

I don't think you'll have to stop in fact i think they will tell you to stay on it to keep the hairs you had before getting HM. If you did stop after HM you would probably lose more of your old hair and have to go back for more HM to get it thicker again.

i agree with nervx, sounds logical to me. I guess is youve lost all your hair then get HM, medications will not be an issue.

Yeah but they're just funding it from what I understand; the actual work is being done by real scientists.

Why do you say 10 years? Intercytex are about to start phase III trials next year (according to their website). If you look on their website about the amount of investors the company has (big name investors like johnson-johnson) I think once the phase III trials are complete we should be looking at 2-3 years max unti la commercial porduct is available.

You know, I can't wait until this comes out. I may be bald then, but I hope I'll have enough donor hair to get this procedure. I'll be out of school and getting a good salary so I can afford it.

But then, I'm starting a regimen now so I can keep it instead of losing more. The day I can have long hair is far away, but it'll come...

Honestly, I never have a major shed, just 5 or more hairs each shed. I am losing it more because of stress and school.

They actually start phase II next year and phase III in 2007.
