There's yet no real evidence that it has any sort of satisfactory results. Have faith by all means but prepare for the worst. Until some dude here or elsewhere posts some before and afters and we all say "wow", don't bother being optimistic.
If there's going to be a cure it will be gene therapy, it's a genetic issue after all...and gene therapy certainly WILL advance, like megalithically advance. So hope for that instead. In say...around 2 decades, or one decade. Custom genetic profiling and pesonalized patience care is the future. 10 YEARS ago to map the human genome took 10 years and a billion dollars, then it took one year and 100 million, in a decade it will take an hour at 100 bucks.
The future is exciting, if you have an imagination...which I do...and which means I'll probably be disappointed a lot.
