Will Minoxidil Work On A Smooth, Shaved Head

I am thinking about shaving my head smooth just once to see how I like the look. My question is while my hair grows back will this mess up with my progress or will it still absorb into follicles?

I have always thought shaving your head for a period while applying topicals would be a good idea. Like, keep your head shaved for a six month period while applying your topical. You're more likely to get a better rub down of the topical than with hair.
Another reason is a lot of people hate the way their hair looks and feels with a topical in it.
Try a number if months shaved, and then start to grow it back in.
