Will this continue to improve?

I looked at my temples today. Upon close scrutinous observation, I noticed, what once was around half an inch of recession was today a quarter inch. However, the quarter inch that grew back consists of very fine hairs. So fine that when viewed from above, in pictures, or in the mirror, they appear to not be there. Only when viewed carefully from the front, are they visible, but there is a definate un-recession of the temple area.

My question, as stated in the topic, was whether I can expect these hairs to thicken up? Bring back my hair line? Or will they most likely remain thin hairs?

I forgot to mention, I posted in this forum because I am currently on Propecia, so it seemed like the most relevant forum to post in.

Finasteride's main efficacy is in the area of maintenance, and if you feel that you are getting some recovery in the temples, there should be no question that you're maintaining. Finasteride can trigger regrowth on its own in a minority of users. But it's likely that Finasteride regrowth will happen in the crown area long before it occurs on the temples (that is, if you have thinning on the crown). Some important factors:

How long have you been taking finasteride?

What is your hair loss pattern and experience?

The use of minoxidil, even if only on the temples, would give these obviously recovering hairs a good kickstart.

As I stated in the first post, I have about half an inch of recession on the temples. The top is fairly thin as well.

I have used minoxidil in the past. You say it would give these hairs a good kickstart, but what will happen after I stop using it, these hairs will just fall out again won't they?

I'm reluctant to use minoxidil for this reason, as I don't like the process of applying it, and I also don't like the way it makes the hair look and feel.

If you add minoxidil to your hair, and it causes regrowth, then yes, the continued use of minoxidil is necessary.

If you haven't used the foam, try it. In the morning I use a good thickening shampoo and then apply it after drying my hair a little right when I get out of the shower. Absorption is better on a damp scalp, and the thickening shampoo ensures that when it dries it won't look greasy, etc. The foam dries hella quick, too. My hair is more than acceptable, almost completely dry, within 25-35 minutes.

I've tried minoxidil, but not the foam. I wouldn't want to commit to doing something like applying minoxidil to my hair twice a day, for life. I know you're trying to help, so don't think I'm being an *** by ignoring your advice. It's just minoxidil isn't for me.
