Will Update.... My Experience With Topical Finasteride!

Hi all,

So I am 26 years old, I’ve tried laser therapy and oral Finasteride twice... I had to stop the pill version of finasteride due to side effects and was super bummed... anyways found a topical finasteride and I am starting to use it. The finasteride I have only has finasteride in it, no minoxidil or anything else. Anyways I apply it everyday with a dropper and have been on it for a week now, I started using it on 2/17/21 I’m hoping I can thicken my hairline back up with it. Below are pictures from today to track progress..... all are from today besides the last photo, the last photo is from 10 years ago when I was 15years old. Let me know if you have any questions, hopefully this stuff works!!! So far it has been good in my opinion, but as time goes on we will see.

I have been on topical finasteride for a month as of next week. So far don’t notice anything, wasn’t planning on see results that fast anyway. I apply the recommended dose around my hairline daily. I had super weird chest pains from the pills so that’s why I switched. I still have weird feelings in my chest here and there but I think it could be a nocebo effect. I am going to carry on and keep using and hopefully the chest stuff goes away. Other than that I have been enjoying this stuff for the most part. I will let you know if I discontinue or if my hairline is getting fuller or I see any new growth. Thanks all!

I am literally just using this topical finasteride, no minoxidil. I take those nutrafol pills as well, I am really hoping the top finasteride starts to thicken up. Other than that nothing, I will keep you guys posted. It says on the back of the bottle 4-6 months to see improvements so I’ll try to at least go until then. I’m pretty sure it’s a fairly long process so I need to be consistent and just wait it out. Don’t want to add a ton of different things, I genuinely want to see if topical finasteride works to thicken/regrow by itself.

Don't expect to see much difference on Finasteride alone, it'd probably take more than six months... And most guys simply maintain on finasteride so expecting any regrowth or difference on any pictures is probably overkill, although you may see some thickening later on.

Yeah well I’m hoping I can thicken my hairline and keep it where it’s at. If I can achieve that it will be a success for me. Honestly always had a natural receded looked and big forehead, so if I lose any at all it looks way worse than most people. I will keep you guys posted, wish me luck, you never know with finasteride, I could get some regrowth, staying optimistic!

Does it seem like my hair is getting worse on this stuff? Or shedding? I can’t tell, I’ve been on for a month and a half now... I really want this stuff to thicken up my thinning areas on the below photos. Please lmk thank you

What’s your full regime again? Shedding can be a good sign and can take 6 months to a year.

I am just using the essegen-F everyday. I apply it at night before bed like instructions say to do. I also take nutrafol, but those are the only 2 things in my regimen. Idk I feel like it’s thinned out a little bit since I started, but I Guess I’ll just keep applying and stick with it. Hopefully weak hairs are falling so new stronger ones can fill in.

2 month update with essegen-F topical finasteride no minoxidil no other treatments besides nutrafol. I honestly haven’t noticed any new growth and don’t know if it has gotten thinner around my hairline. I am going to keep going but here are my 2 month update photos. Let me know if you have any questions, might have to look into something else, I still feel like my right temple is still thinning. Thank you.

nothing just nutrafol and I don’t even know if that crap has been working. Just apply my topical finasteride every night before bed. Just going to keep using it for now.
